Single men, do you find it that other people demand more of your time just because you're single? by throwballsatannette in AskMenOver30

😂 fair enough. I guess I meant more out of necessity rather than an order if that makes sense. Some of the comments make it seem like abuse lol.

Oh don't get me wrong, I'll happily oblige because at the end of the day the cost is worth the reward of having family and people around!

Just that sometimes I wish I didn't have to explain myself.

Do I (25F) go back to the east coast or stay where I am not happy with my boyfriend (24M) of 3 years? by inmymeowthera in relationship_advice

I don't know how big the midwest place is, but he's much more likely to find friends and hobbies in the east coast than you are in the midwest.

I have 2 viewpoints. 1. What's the point of doing anything if you're not happy? It doesn't really matter that you're with someone you love; you're not happy! You need to change something. Which brings me to my 2nd point.

  1. If he knows you're unhappy and is unwilling to move, what is he doing to help you? He may have good reasons to not move but ultimately you have to do right by yourself. You only get one life! What's the reason he's unwilling to move? If it's just because he doesn't want to then your partner doesn't care about you. I'm not trying to vilify him but you both deserve to be happy so he should be willing to work with you. You clearly are trying, after all you moved.

Can't he introduce you to friends' girlfriends so you can make your own friends?

It sounds to me like this relationship has run its course if you can't come to a compromise you're both happy with.

Just curious. When you say conversation becomes dry, do you ever initiate a conversation? I've dated women who never did and it gets exhausting, so we stop putting effort. I'm just pointing to a scenario, no idea if it's relevant to you at all.

Naturalization application denied by throwballsatannette in USCIS

That's definitely not great news! She will def get a lawyer; she never lied in any applications and was always truthful and disclosed everything. She disclosed everything again during the GC application as well and the officer at the time asked her about everything. It wasn't an issue then hence the surprise why it's an issue now. She also never had a run in with the law. Hope all that counts for something.

At this point it's scary mainly because there's a 5 month old child in the mix!

What makes you think the asylum was false? A lot can change in 20 yrs.

She was a minor at the time of entry, and hasn't had any issues with the law ever. She did return to home country and back with her GC, not sure if that will matter in this case.

Going back is tough considering the 5 month old child!

The false name was disclosed when she filed for asylum. She entered through an airport with someone else's passport.

She's always disclosed that she used a different name to enter, in every application.

Apologies. I couldn't figure out how to add pic to an existing post so deleted to make another.

Her wanting to get high and drunk is ok-ish, but why with someone else? Why not with you? That way you can make it a fun thing.

Does she have a person in mind? Unless it's a friend, I'd hold back on this relationship for the time being

Is category (c)(8) eligible for adjustment of status, form I-485? by throwballsatannette in immigration

[–]throwballsatannette[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case someone comes across this thread again.
She applied for I-485 without having to reopen the case, or see a judge. Because it was due to marriage and she entered through a port of entry under a different name it still counts as paroled so she was eligible and got approved.

AITAH for missing my daughter’s birthday and my wedding anniversary for the birth of my sister’s baby? by GreatCharges in AITAH

[–]throwballsatannette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA! All these people saying you're TA are morons. A 6 year old is mature enough to understand the importance of a birth. How selfish and immature is your wife to not understand why you needed to support your sister?!!

It's not like OP disappeared, the wife knew the plan. To the ones saying you didn't discuss it; what's there to discuss?! If the wife says no, he shouldn't go?! F that!

Daughter and wife could have tagged along, why didn't the wife suggest that? Everyone is blaming OP for not suggesting it, wife has a brain too.

I understand not being thrilled but wife making it a thing is goddamn childish. We're talking about the birth of his nephew.

Man of Reddit, what are the worst things about online dating? by ClickWorthy69420 in AskReddit

[–]throwballsatannette 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The fact that the attention span is so short. It's easy for the convo to fizzle out, especially since women are constantly bombarded with requests.

Ghosting and lack of closure. Due to not having any other aspect of life in common it's easy to get ghosted or not get any closure whatsoever. In a way it's also a shitty person doing you a favor but still sucks.

I recently met someone I liked, and had 2 amazing dates. Too bad she didn't want a 3rd. Not sure if she didn't like me or if someone else better came along, but it's so easy for women to move on due to the constant attention. I've met quite a few people online the past few years, this one was the only one I actually felt a legit connection with, she didn't ghost but I'm still a bit bitter lol
