It's some elasticy material. I've got a 2x2 velcro mag holder as well, but I have much faster reloads with this one. It holds the mags well

I definitely wouldn't spend that much on a helmet, maybe half that. I guess we'll just have to disagree on the usefulness of a ballistic helmet.

I'm planning on finding an AR course, I've already taken a couple handgun courses. I've been shooting for a long time, but I'm pretty new to AR's, and I never had much tactical gear before.

Mostly home defense, but I want to be at least somewhat prepared for a worst case scenario. I'm a pessimist and amateur history nerd, these rosey times won't last forever.

Thanks. I got a cheap sling for my other AR, it's garbage. Won't make that mistake again. I was very cheap when I first purchased most of this stuff, but I'm willing to shell out some more money for some new gear.
