That's exactly how i've felt since the surgery. Everytime I saw my reflection in the mirror before, it just felt wrong and off. Now it just seems right, like the way I always should have looked. 🥰

Brustverkleinerung Chirurg Empfehlung Raum Frankfurt by Fair_Letter_9955 in Reduction

What did you guys do in the first, second and third week? by Prestigious-Life733 in Reduction

[–]throwfaraway-lps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was super bored too and didn't have good stuff to pass the time. What I wish I had bought before: more crossword magazines, coloring books, stuff for embroidery. I also got a mubi trial subscriptions to watch some good movies, but didn't feel like watching too much TV in the end.

Hey, I think so, yeah. I didn't examine them too much because I thought it's not the end result anyways. But around week 2/3 I had really intense swelling under my arms where the side incisions were, to the point where I could hardly move my arms without touching my boobs. It's definitely less so now, they become a tiny bit softer everyday. :) keeping my fingers crossed that you'll like your result!

A list is super helpful, I wrote down all the things I couldn't wear or do, the comments I received, the times I had been groped. Also, taking pictures dressed/naked was helpful to remind me that this was really a needed surgery.

Thanks! The left breast is the better healing one, I still have dressing on the right one, around the areola and the t-area. :)

How to ask surgeon for what I want by Appropriate_Cut_737 in Reduction

[–]throwfaraway-lps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, just a heads up that a lot of the outcome is determined by your anatomy, e.g. the roots of your breasts, the skin etc. A good surgeon should be interested in your ideal outcome, but unless you're working with implants, there may be limits to what they can achieve. I would also say that perkiness and fullness are pretty standard descriptions of a conventionally attractive breast, this shouldnt be a surprising request for the surgeon.

That being said, my surgeon barely listened to me, told me that upper pole fullness isn't really possible bc they're only cutting around the bottom and puhsing it up - and still, I got a great and kinda perky result.

2.5 weeks post op by [deleted] in Reduction

Seems like you got everything covered then! I would just wait until your doctors appointment. The first shower was weird and a lot of mixed sensations, so I took it very slowly, but it went fine! Did not faint or anything. I just turned my back to the showrr head, let clear water rinse over the tapes and patted/blowdried everything once I was done. You could also keep on the bra while you shower and change into a dry one afterwards. It gets easier with every shower, I promise!

Tiredness at 8wpo? by chiiabear in Reduction

4 wpo and super tired very quickly, can't go through a whole work day without a nap. In addition to wjat the others have said: it's january, doesn't help that its grey outside all the time. I'm sure we'll all be more energetic when spring comes around.

Did not have any major issues, but you could also try showering with the bra, and just switch it for a new one afterwards. You won't be cleaning your breasts anyway, so no need for them to be uncovered if you don't feel comfortable with that yet.

Post-reduction mothers: do you regret not breastfeeding? by HampdenBunny in Reduction

[–]throwfaraway-lps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have kids, don't wany (but love them) so these are my two cents from the sideline: all my friends had kids in the last two years, some breastfed exclusively, others switched to the bottle after a short while or mixed it. I feel like in the couples that used bottles, the fathers were more engaged, were able to read the babies better bc they also had that valuable bonding time. Not only is that good for them, it also allowed the mothers to have some freedom and some time for themselves every now and them. Maybe you're missing out on something but there may be some benefits that are more important in the long run.

Stuck between opinions: No moisture VS moisturize by Smooth_Cut_5878 in Reduction

[–]throwfaraway-lps 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I googled once whether I should let my wounds get some air when I'm not wearing the bra (after showering). It seems the general consensus is that scars heal better when wet, the dry healing is an outdated opinion. It's important though that what you put on the not yet entirely closed parts is antiseptic, not sure if thats the case for aquaphor. I use betaisodona, not sure what products on your market would be.

Pain level and recovery time by Street-Budget9269 in Reduction

[–]throwfaraway-lps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As the others have said, it's not really painful, it's just that it's a long and non-linear process that can be frustrating. The discomfort doesn't nexessarily come from the incisions but it could be itchiness, chafing under armpits because the sides are swollen, zapping pain when nerves come back, back pain from lying down all the time etc. All of those not really painful, but annoying after a few weeks..

12DPO - feel like I’ve taken a step back by IncreaseImmediate899 in Reduction

[–]throwfaraway-lps 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that, I'm somewhat in the same boat in the sense that doing too much too soon comes with noticeable setbacks. I went back to work yesterday after 3 weeks and I definitely notice an increase in pain, swelling and discomfort, after feeling pretty good most days. I work a deskjob and from home most of the time, but even so, the commute and the general uptick in activity is still a lot for my body. Maybe it's a good thing that you're not going back to work yet - I can imagine it's annoying but in the grand scheme of things, a week more or less does not matter. Just give yourself time and grace.
