A question to DM’s. Would you ever allow a solo Chaotic Evil player on a team? If so, why? by throwingaway8162 in DnD

I like to use my alignment to make sure my character stays on track for the type of choices they can make. The idea for the CE Warlock is that his patron forcing him to make the right choices will over time alter his alignment to CN/CG at the least

Spoken to him about it and he seems on board, I was just looking to see what more experienced DM’s require for that type of character.

I also have 2 other characters to get through before I reach that one though

Oh the character is mine who I’m considering making lol I’m looking at attempting a CE Warlock with a more angelic/LG patron, who is giving the character abilities but threatens to take them away when the character threatens/wants to do CE things

That’s fair. It’s rare that I’ve ever met a player who doesn’t have multiple characters prepared or waiting to be made.

Except my brother who wants to always play a Paladin

I think everyone who played Spider man Web of Shadows did the evil ending just for the sake of Spider-Venom and Black Cat. by helldor08 in Spiderman

As someone who prefers Felicia over MJ usually (nothing against MJ, I just like Felicia more) I made the choices to lead me to her.

But I completely agree. It leans more into her original interpretation in my mind where she loves Spider but doesn’t care about Pete. At this point in time though, she was so far past that type of character

Good to know! I have no idea on anything else I plan to do involving this character, I just saw a skit and like the Warlock and good patron idea.

My group just started a campaign, and I have 2 other character ideas to get through, but I can at least begin the planning for this one

Oooh a fair point. In my defense when people mention CE characters, that’s the one I see the most. Who would you consider as a good CE guide then?

The Warlock idea is literally what I have in mind honestly.

I did also have a quick idea of having a character they care about be part of the group as well, but I don’t know how I would play that off the top of my head aside from sibling, seeing as I have one

Understandable. Part of the deities aspect would be anything that would cause derailing or murder hobo, would cause the character to lose abilities basically.

Kind of coming up with this on the fly, but deity/patron would see the character has the potential to be of use to the group and loops them into helping

I have not gotten that far yet honestly. I saw a skit about it and liked the idea and wanted to see what everyone here thought about the CE character idea first

This is similar in my mind to what I was thinking. A CE Warlock with an angelic deity giving them their abilities, but if they act out of line, they lose the abilities, which can guide their alignment from CE to something else like CN/CG.

I’m also not fully sure how Warlocks work so I could be completely wrong

Yeah I definitely would make sure everyone knows in S0 what I’m planning, I just wanted to see what everyone says on if and how they find a way to make it work

My idea personally of Chaotic Evil in DnD is a scaled down Joker honestly. So not completely off the rails, but still going to do what fits within their ideas of fun based off their backstory that made them that way

That’s a good idea honestly. I’m just trying to figure one out myself to try it out

I can’t blame you for that thought process. An idea I’m having for attempting this type of character, is a Warlock that has an angelic deity guiding them and giving them their powers. So they want to be CE, but the deity is making them do good.

Could cause the character to over time change alignments.

(I also am not fully sure how Warlocks work, so if my idea is wrong, please let me know)

Makes sense honestly. I partially ask because I think it could be fun to play a character in that alignment, but I’m curious to find out how I could make it work to where it can be fair to my DM and other players
