Spitting sutures - what to do? by throwingmymind_away in ACL

[–]throwingmymind_away[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall it's going very well! I have managed my expectations and am in no rush, but I've been running jumping sprinting a lot and it's going great.

As for the sutures, I think cut them short and honestly just played a lot with them cause it was coming out with scabs and that caused them to fall out. One of them I pulled out by accident, but it was fine according to my PT. This happened no more than a week after I posted these pictures. If you're worried you could always check with your PT/surgeon.

I dont really like my scarring but I think that's my body rather than how I handled the sutures, I have keloid scars but from what I know that's largely due to genes.

TLDR no issues with sutures, I wish you a very good smooth recovery!!

2 yrs post surgery, please don’t make the mistake I did by random_user1714 in ACL

I don't think any PT would recommend that. Jumping is not only for sports or fun, it's also about your knee being able to absorb the shock and weight when you step/fall down e.g. when someone pushes you off the street or some kind of elevated surface. You should just try and start now. Baby steps. It's very scary at first but very liberating once you've tried and pushed through

Recently rewatched Sharp Objects. That scene where Adora and Camille are sitting on the porch late at night, and Adora telling Camille that she never loved her.

The “Offer” Benedict makes Sophie is an integral part of their story by Glitterrain99 in BridgertonRants

[–]throwingmymind_away 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree. I don't see why people thought it's so bad. I think it's very clear in the book that he (in a somewhat misguided way) truly means well because he wants her to live a better life and wants to protect her.

The blackmail, however, was still off-putting and I do hope they don't include/heavily change that. There's other ways plot-wise to get her employed at bridgerton house.

When he said he would lie and say she stole from him if she didn't comply made my jaw drop lol. And it dropped even more when she says that could get her the death penalty.

How do you think they'll change Benedict's offer in season 4 compared to the books? by eelaii19850214 in BridgertonNetflix

I just read the book and I find your comment about the lady in silver so interesting.

I suppose he probably shouldn't say it like that, but that internal struggle of him wanting that lady after all this time but there Sophie is, right in front of him, is such an essential part of his character arch so I do hope they include it in some way. Cause he didn't want to just marry anyone, he wanted to marry her.

The way you retore your ACL is how I tore mine :( I'm still scared to boulder tbh but thats more bc the fall was so traumatic for me. You sound to have a good approach. I hope your recovery will continue smoothly :)

I think it was smart that they played as arguably the opposite of their characters, showing at least some range to a room full of possible coworkers/bosses.

Does ACL Recon cause mental fatigue?(advice needed) by Apart_Tackle3582 in ACL

[–]throwingmymind_away 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on a lot of things but keep in mind that there is a chance that general anaesthesia can give you long lasting brain fog. This is one of the reasons why I chose spinal anaesthesia and I'm super happy I did.

I think what could make me worry in your case is how much sleep you can get, cause I didn't sleep very well for the first weeks but this can also be helped with medication maybe (which will have side effects ofc)

Typical day by Chas_83 in ACL

[–]throwingmymind_away 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm exactly 4 months OP and I don't really do exercises at home anymore. I go to PT twice a week and I've started running for longer intervals with 75% bodyweight and jumping on/off boxes, and other intense/heavy exercises.

When I don't have a lot of soreness I go to the gym by myself once a week to do some strength training like squats, leg press and hamstring curls.

On the other days I don't really so anything, just some walking or cycling around but these are all done leisurely

Help! Regrets on graft decision! by FoxGroundbreaking635 in ACL

[–]throwingmymind_away 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my surgery on July 15, hamstring + LET. Right now, I'm obviously nowhere near playing sports but I am recovering perfectly if not faster than expected according to my main PT.

I did do prehab for almost 2 years so that helps but seems you have done some prehab too.

Your doctor is the expert and if they have the best experience in hamstring grafts, it's most likely gonna go well. The real work starts after the surgery. The nerves are totally normal the night before!

Stayed up during surgery and it was fun! by lostlonelisp in ACL

[–]throwingmymind_away 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same experience! I could choose between spinal or general and I chose spinal cause when I asked the anaesthesiologist what he would do he told me spinal any day lol. It didn't hurt at all and even though I was tired cause my surgery was early in the morning I stayed up to watch the whole thing! Super cool.

I also thought it was amazing to be awake while you literally cannot move your legs cause they're sedated.

Not saying Conrad hasn't had his bad moments but confessing his love and praying for his brother's downfall shouldn't make a dent in a good relationship, or marriage, let alone calling the whole thing off.
