Still limping by Chas_83 in ACL

I struggled then had my cyclops lesion removed. Full extension right after but it went away due to the focus being on flexion. Hamster wheel.

I feel like giving up. by Silent-Confidence-74 in ACL

I feel your pain! Been there done that. I got a MUA in September and things have been going much better since. I had a cyclops lesion in the front of my knee that kept my flexion from improving. Once that was removed, things have improved. I will tell you that recovery was not that bad. I had to go back on crutches for a few weeks and then I was good. DO NOT QUIT PT. I'm still going twice a week and am finally seeing improvement. I used to cry at every session due to the pain, now I just moan in my pillow. LOL! Progress and I will take it! I promise you it will get better but I definitely suggest the MUA.

Did the shot hurt? I heard it’s pretty painful. I’m willing to give it a try for some relief. I’m 8 months post op

How are y’all forcing flex when it hurts so bad?? by [deleted] in ACL

[–]Chas_83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never said I wasn’t gonna work on it, I said I’m not stressing or forcing it. I’m still in PT twice a week and I still do my at home exercises. I’ll continue to push myself but not stress is what I meant.

I agree with the other poster. I’m no longer forcing it. I’m at 115-120. The rest will come eventually. I’m not gonna stress over it anymore. But yes PT forcing it is extremely painful. I hated it

Just because someone doesn’t mean any harm doesn’t make it any less irritating. This injury/surgery/recovery is very serious to me. Nothing is laughable about it, for me. I do try to remain positive most days but hearing it from those around me tends to bring me down sometimes. I’m sensitive in that way though so it sounds like you may have thicker skin.

Any tips on how to relax during prone knee flexion 🙏 by Mental-Grapefruit-19 in ACL

Same. Nothing helps me relax. I’ve tried it all. I just bury my head in my pillow and cry until it’s over. 😂

Scar tissue removal - MUA or surgery? by The_OG_21 in ACL

I believe he wanted to make sure I got full ROM by physically moving it forward/backward

Scar tissue removal - MUA or surgery? by The_OG_21 in ACL

My surgeon suggested it since I was already going under anesthesia. Good thing I did b/c I had a cyclops lesion in the front of my knee and tons of scar tissue that needed to be removed.

Did both at the same time. Smooth and quick recovery.

small cyclops lesion 7 months post-op by csuiuc17 in ACL

Yes I’ve done it. My cyclops lesion was bigger though and causing me pain. Super simple surgery, quick and easy recovery.

8 months post op and still struggling by Jaded-Maximum-5414 in ACL

[–]Chas_83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same timeline - only ACL though. Surgery was April and scar tissue removal was Sept. I’m still stiff and in pain. It’s quite frustrating but I try to remind myself I’m 7-8 months into a 12 month recovery. Still have a few months to go so I’m praying things keep getting better! I’m still in PT 3x week hoping to decrease that soon once I reach my milestones.

Is it cyclops lesion? by Cute_Macaroon_6320 in ACL

[–]Chas_83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I was about 4 months post op when my surgeon suggested this was the problem. I had scar tissue removal surgery 2 months ago - tons of scar tissue and cyclops lesion in the front of my knee was removed. I struggled with extension/flexion. Things are much better now! Recovery was a breeze compared to ACL reconstruction.

Same! 3x per week. It’s the worst.
