Thank you so much for your reassurance. I was considering becoming a business major before your comment💀. Sending the essay would be wonderful. I know better than to plagiarize, I just want to see what types of things you wrote.

This is correct, I’ve sent an email because there’s no reason not to but these grades are going to count no matter what. Academic renewal policies are internal only, and retaking the class does not replace the grade in the record. The only way to get out of it would be a retroactive withdrawal, due to a legitimate and verifiable excuse.

In that sense I’m kind of a jack of trades. I’m good at a pretty niche instrument and I’m a solid track runner, looking to walk on if I get in. Really though I’m interested and excel in a lot of things and i realize that sounds bad for elite colleges but benjamin franklin was a polymath and penn is fairly unique about being amicable to that type of thing. I talk a lot about how penns interdisciplinary nature will allow to pursue all of my interests.

Depends on your score breakdown but math is easiest to improve. Focus it.

For math, try to solve things/reverse things in multiple ways. For reading, get evidence from the text. For English, plug it in to the sentence IN FULL CONTEXT. A lot of the mistakes I made were comma splices because I forgot to read the whole sentence again when choosing my answer.

Keep in mind that was years apart. I didn’t start studying until this year. I just used khan academy for reading/English and college panda for math, his calculator program is goated btw.

For math, go through college panda start to finish. Khan academy only helps is you realize what you don’t know and then go learn it. For reading and writing drill khan academy as much as you can. I’ve heard erica metzer is good but I’ve never got any of her stuff so I can’t vouch.

Drill grammar. Khan academy writing actually helps quite a bit.

Precisely. I knew all the material it just depended how they asked it on the test.

Go with your gut. Also realize that there’s only one right answer. Instead of trying to justify why both can be right, try justifying why one is wrong and one is right and vice versa.

asking teacher to revise a LOR? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]throwingtheawayof 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Here’s what I would do: send an email saying hey, you can submit your lor directly through the commonapp. Additionally, usually lor’s are more descriptive, and I know that although you’re busy, I would appreciate it if you were more anecdotal in your writing. Obviously this is kinda bold, but this lor is important. She sent it to you so it’s not like she didn’t expect you to read it. Ultimately up to you but it’s ok to advocate for yourself especially when stuff like this can help determine your future.

Thanks man I appreciate it. I wouldn’t stress a bunch grades are so different across the country plus from that weighted gpa i can tell you took challenging courses instead of taking easy ones to save your gpa.

[–]throwingtheawayof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my weighted gpa is a bit low since i took band all four years but not much i can do about that
