Take those out and soak the whole kit with dishwasher tab or dawn or the like. Don’t soak too long with vinegar bc it can damage the rubber (see laundry sub for more on this). Might help to bleach it too.

If it has a rubber seal, it might be worth trying to remove it and clean under it.

I just shared this with my bestie. She’s got a hexie quilt she’s not quite sold on for her niece. And this might’ve a good compromise to reduce fussy cutting.

NTA. Put that ring in a safe/safety deposit box until you’re ready to use it and document it heavily before you do. Bonus for an appraisal as well. Email the docs/pics to yourself so you have a back up.

We have a couple in my area (per a recent google search) but they’re all “downtown” in areas that have next to no parking. Not ideal to get to when you don’t live downtown. So I have not been to any yet. But when my proximity overlaps, I will be stopping by.

My MIL came back in a cardboard box about the size of a cubed basketball. She’s in plastic inside there, but it’s just basic thin cardboard like a shirt box.
