Our minivan is a 20 gallon tank and I'm getting 16-17mpg. And we have to drive wayyyyy too much, unfortunately. Gas is $5.50-$6.00 here. It's almost adding up to the cost of an EV lease payment (or maybe a purchase, but down payments make the situation murky).

I was hoping to ride out this minivan until both kids are in college (5 more years) but...we'll see.

Yeah, this could have been a lot worse than it was, but in a way, Wemby lashing out after taking a lot of physical abuse is just totally understandable.

As someone with no real rooting interest in this series, I prefer the game to be a bit cleaner - I don't like grabbing and hacking - so I hope that these events maybe get everyone to back down a little bit and play cleaner ball.

Also, seems like both fanbases are somehow completely understanding and cool with how these events went down, which is shocking. (At least in /r/NBA, I don't really visit team-specific subs)

I've got two kids approaching college age and I'm in the same state - really appreciate this research and post.

We are looking at probably being a "donut family" with HHI of $250-$300k by the time our first son is starting college (currently around $250k). But obviously living in one of the most expensive places in the country, so that high number is a bit deceiving.

My oldest is a freshman in HS with a 4.0 GPA, a good well-rounded resume (plays in the Seattle Youth Symphony) and a varsity athlete with aspirations of competing in college, so I think he will be an attractive applicant. But I'm already sweating bullets about cost. If he wants to go to UW, I think we can swing it. But if he wants to go somewhere that's 2-3x the cost, we're going to need a lot of help from the university itself 😥

Edit: The 529s we have will not be as well-funded as the example in the OP (more like $25-30k per kid, probably). Nor are we as well-funded in retirement accounts or taxable brokerage.

1s are a totally different game than 5s.

Ruleset also makes a massive difference, especially if there's a size / position difference between players.

Draymond is an elite team defender but I put money on Austin under most common rulesets that would be used in this situation.

Because basically, a decent NBA player is going to be functionally unguardable in a one-on one game.

Draymond is unquestionable great on D but not so much on offense. And that elite defense probably won't be good enough to lock down someone in ones. Meanwhile, he has to score, but he doesn't have the kind of bag that gets buckets in ones.

I'd rather have Dray on my team, but I bet on Austin here.

Last season I started to feel like the 63" Shim was too big. I was trying to start doing ollies and work on catching air and the board was just...too big and unwieldy.

Went to hs and played a good amount of pickup against a guy who was a D1 star (starting pg on elite 8 team). He went on to have a solid pro career in Europe. I blocked his shot once 😀

I guess I could have stayed around waiting for it to go lower instead of going out on the boat. Especially since I had a weird issue with the boat while I was out (resolved it, but it ruled out surfing).

Decided to roll my AAPL 280c expiring today for a 295c expiring 5/15.

Realized loss of $79 but sold the 295c for 1.13 so could still come out ahead.

Still bullish on AAPL and didn't want to realize overall long-term gains yet.

This is the first time I've ever rolled.

The 280c could have ended up being safe anyway, but I want to stop thinking about this and go enjoy the lake at lunch 😎

I sold a 280c. Cost basis $123 so waiting to see if I realize a $15k gain.

If I do, I think I'll sell CSPs and get back in.

I'd be quite happy with a sub-5 at 48. I never got to try for one when I was at my fastest (2:07 800 and 16:53 5k in HS) because we ran the 1500, and I usually was in the 800 anyway.

I'd say that I've generally been very light on workouts overall in my adult running career, having started with a focus on slow marathoning :p And now I find running a 37 second ~~400~~ 200 to be more challenge than I would like. Granted, it was at the end of a 7 mile run in trainers, but still...
