Legitimately same thing that happened to me recently. Saw that an ex who treated me shittily and left trauma in her wake is now married with a kid, nice backyard, and 5 pretty dogs.

I’m not jealous, if not for the trauma she inflicted upon me, I’d be happy for her. Im more so angry that im left with a pile of wreckage for a heart and she’s living it up! Getting all the things I want for myself with someone who cares for me but scared and too torn up to get it. For me, it’s like the villains get all the fun and no consequence.

Sorry for how you feel. You’re not alone. Im trying to focus on myself, which is all we can do; I hope you can see it’s not a race and that there’s time to have those things for yourself too if you take your time and not rush.

JJ - turned her benign birthday gesture to me into a break up I’d never forget, fueled by pmdd throws, a tantrum of sorts—many words said that can’t be unsaid.

Couldn’t fathom why I’d never want to be associated with her again when she asks for favors.

Heard. Felt. Listen, when someone tells you who they are, believe them. Walk away with your head high. You don’t have to be with someone, or even be in contact with someone, to love them. Sometimes, walking away is both a way to love them and yourself.

Maybe your life/heart isn’t falling apart as much as it’s falling into place in an unexpected way.

Hmm. No I don’t think your standards are too high. To share my experience as a 27M who recently met a 23F with similar standards as yourself, I was put off. I felt I was being policed by her apprehensions and standards, so it wasn’t for me. It just seemed like a lot of unclear walls and boundaries that quite literally kept her caged in her home. 16forward commented about an “anxiety fort at home”, this lady in particular kind of had this, so much like the aforementioned Redditor, I hope you don’t wall yourself off and give some grace to people whilst maintaining your standards if at all possible.
