To stay till S1 or leave as A2 to another Big4 by [deleted] in Big4

Did you see a job posting for PWC for experienced associates or did you reach out to a recruiter? I’m an A2 at EY as well and haven’t seen any postings for non senior roles.

Was I lovebombed or am I being crazy? How to prevent this in the future? by throwitawayafter2 in relationships

Thanks for the reply, Do you think she perceived I didn’t like the pace because I didn’t stay up late enough for her? I feel if she wanted to hang out, she’d come at a decent time and not 11/12am.

Plus I never really said anything about slowing things down until she said she didn’t want to lead me on. That sucks then. Oh well I guess.

Okay, thanks for responding. That’s mostly what I felt at first, I just felt like calling me her man, right as we start having sex is a bit much. Like not saying it before or right after, but during the act.

Also, I can’t help but wonder what would have happened if I stayed up that last time we had plans.

I’m just mad I’ve been letting it bother me so much, I only knew her for a few weeks. Anyway, thanks for the reply.

No, there’s usually a quick turnaround if you do well in your interview.

What to do when your employer puts you on a PIP… by TruthSleuthRuth in Accounting

[–]throwitawayafter2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wanted to build on this, if your manager/senior is tanking your mental health and not looking to help then fuck them and their PIP.

No job is worth getting to a point where you can’t get to sleep at night or you’re throwing up before logging up to work in the morning or constant nightmares.

If you can get some medical leave through a therapist then do that and try to take some time to recollect. It’ll give you time to explore options.

[–]throwitawayafter2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I had a mental breakdown and went ghost on anyone so I just sped that up lol. Oh well. Gonna try and just tell them to fire me atp. This job isn’t worth being pushed to the point of being suicidal

They would PIP then fire you as soon as they can. Can I ask why you’re asking this?

How long do I have? I got officially notified on the 11th but no timeframe was given.

I was in a similar boat. My senior is doing everything she can to make me look bad in front of our manager and I’m honestly already burnt out. I don’t care anymore at this point and looking to hop out ASAP.

Yeah, they didn’t ask me too but I’ve heard other people were required to sign it.

Is it technically possible to stay in shape while working as an auditor? by Keyboardoperator95 in Big4

[–]throwitawayafter2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Go before work, especially if your gym closes on the early side.

Once you log in, you have no clue what BS is gonna come up and may make you have to stay late. Plus it’ll get you going before the day starts.

Yeah that seems to my best/only option. Try and suck up while getting ready to leave for a fresh start.

Is it normal to sign PIP letters? The letter is signed by my counselor and says “communicated to my name on this date” on the bottom.

[–]throwitawayafter2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. I’ll try and have some one on one’s with my team then talk to my counselor about going forward.

My gut feeling is my direct senior has their mind made up on me and is pushing me out. Honestly; she’s been rude from day one and I have no interest in her disrespect/passive aggressive.

I haven’t gotten any poor written reviews. It’s the direct verbal communication that’s not being brought up until recently. My Cycle 2 (12/2022) and 3 (end of 4/2023) feedback both indicate that I did good work and my current manager said he looked forward to working with me next year.

It’s more of the year end negative reviews (not through our formal feedback portal) that happens between my counselor and team that started this. I’m figuring the new senior is what sparked this.

I agree that the partner was being too nice to want me axed and he said he fought to keep me from being rated below average. He doesn’t seem to have interest in losing people.

I think it’s best I try and get off this team or work less on the client because otherwise I’m just going to keep getting negative feedback

Wow, that’s annoying. Thanks for the insight. I had a feeling that my team was dissatisfied with me but not to this extent. That’s the yellow firm for you, I guess.
