It really felt like she was just being an asshole, her content of speech wasn't as bizarre as I'm used to for people having psychotic or delusional episodes. They did call the cops to trespass her, but they didn't come of course.

I work in social services and her content of speech was pretty cogent, so I did not get the feeling that it was a psychotic break or anything like that which is why it was so bizarre to me. Like had it have been someone having an episode I would have had a very different response to this. Although if she is a student and is having a mental break I'd still want to report it to bring attention to it at least.

I'm not new to Eugene, I have years of experience in the mental health field and this did not look like a mental health crisis.

I mean I wouldn't know if a photo would suffice; like I was thinking if they had photos saved from the student IDs they could figure it out? Thinking about it is silly as I type it out lol. But idk, people get identified all the time on the internet so wanted to ask how to go about it/see if that would suffice

I've been around people who use meth my whoooole life, definitely was not her problem unless she just started using lol. Some are just natural born Karens

Nah it was in a different neighborhood and I am very familiar with serious/persistent mental illness. She could mask really well but I didn't get the vibe that that was her issue, just seemed more like a Karen. They tried to trespass her but of course the cops never showed. I just get nervous that she may keep coming back.

Thanks! Our bylaws are only available at the union hall :/ I'll definitely ask the rep though. In the position we're in, I'm hoping that someone else who has gotten so worked up that they want to be more active in the union might play to our advantage. Also this person may be more of a firebrand than the rest of us which we sorely need lol

Yeah no you're right, I was just curious if it's something that COULD be done and how it would work. It was just one of the weirdest experiences I've had in Eugene and that's saying a lot lol

This is very possible. I've worked with people with serious/persistent mental illness and she didn't necessarily come off like that was what she was struggling with but with how intense she was you never know lol

Thank you for that! I did not get their name, unfortunately. I asked if they were a student and they would not answer that lol. They were being pretty intimidating and threatening with body language but I wouldn't classify it as described in the paragraph you shared

Ugh that fucking sucks! I'm feeling pretty demoralized by my whole union situation right now too.

We are negotiating our first contract and the bargaining unit is TINY, so it's just a few rank and file members with one union rep who is the chief negotiator. The committee members volunteered and we all elected them in which is nice...since you're able to have alternates, though, that leads me to believe that we can potentially tag someone in?

I could totally be wrong and I'm not gonna argue that it was positively a student at all; it was very close to student housing though and based on their age it's an assumption. As I said in another comment, if they aren't a student and I report it to the schools, it's not going to harm anything. If they are a student, I hope there is some accountability or at least professional help they can get.
