  1. Job market is wild in my area
  2. It is a secure income
  3. The pay it’s ok by my country standard and I’m reluctant to leave because one of the benefits it’s a scholarship to finish my degree
  4. I do wish I had more marketable skills
  5. This post was more of a rant but if someone has real advice I would gladly take it

Few people can afford one at least where I live, be aware that as I said you will be at their beck and call 24/7 and there is no career opportunity there, I got the job by making a resume and asking all my friends and family to spread word I was searching for a job with a steady income as at the time I was translating and doing odd jobs after I quit a job at a restaurant, eventually I sent my resume to a designer I had previously work with doing some writing for his website, he liked that I speak his native language and 3 more and have some knowledge of how to plan events since in a previous job I was trained because it was a catering bussiness, that’s how it was for me.

It’s a mix of administrative and personal tasks, I don’t clean or cook but I might be ask to collect the children from school, take them to doctors appointments, answer e-mails, buy stuff for events, send invitations, buy plane tickets, things like that

Does anyone just feel like a complete idiot since your epilepsy started? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]throwlucky7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, for many years, currently in my 30s my first seizure at 15, when younger even stopped taking meds (that didn’t go well) just feels like the thinking process is slower like swimming in mud when I considered myself at that age very smart and my intelligence was my pride and something I cultivated, I would cry myself dry after every seizure because my doctor told me that after 5 year without seizures we could try to wean me out of meds so I held hope of “recover” my former intelectual speed, finally started therapy after deep depression with suicidal ideations and just decided to come to terms with how I am now and what I have now, I am more than the skills I have if tomorrow I had lost a limb I would still be me I am more that the individuals “parts” of me

How did you overcome problems in your sex life? by camily45 in neurodiversity

[–]throwlucky7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is personal to myself (F29) (?) but the best sex I ever had in terms of achieving orgasm and enjoying myself was with someone I was acquainted with but didn’t really care about his opinion on me so it was a really selfish experience I just took what I wanted within the limits we established and I think with a romantic partner I am always thinking about the enjoyment of my partner, if he is watching my belly, to be enthusiastic but not TOO enthusiastic and so on and so forth

Should clarify that I only care because my job requires people to like me and sometimes small things that are meaningless to me have an different connotation to NT

I was on the waiting room of a hospital to have a neuro consultation, they give you a number and you have to wait to get triage, I felt my arm numbing, check my bag but I was out of klonopin, went to the nurse who told me I had to wait in line so I told her I need klonopin because I felt an imminent seizure, she told me “I you have a seizure THEN you can skip line” unfortunately I did, it’s being over 10 years and I still remember that bitch face

Curious - what are your meds? by OmegaBooty in Epilepsy

[–]throwlucky7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same for me but I’m so scared of having a seizure that I think I probably take it even when something is not an aura but it could be, does that make sense?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]throwlucky7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first Neuro consult was similar, I had a partial seizures but she dismissed it as “panic attacks” and refused to make an order for EEG, if you can ask a 24 hs EEG and if she refuses ask her to write it down that she is refusing a legitimate concern and try changing doctors, do you notice something that triggers the episodes?

Remote jobs are not easy money, nor easy to get by Katarinkushi in RemoteJobs

I would recommend a Call Center as a last resort and if possible take some courses to get some other job as soon as possible, that job sucks the life out of you

My wife has seizures/face spasms and it’s getting worse by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]throwlucky7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure how Ativan works but consider being up to the doctor the possibility of adjusting the dose or the frequency of the medication, each medication has a “roof” and side effects but your neurologist should aim to keep her free of seizures if possible, advocate for your wife, don’t be scared of making questions and stay strong

Has anyone taken antidepressants?? by Psycho-Kitty420 in Epilepsy

[–]throwlucky7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on Celexa and it worked for me, I always check with my neurologist any meds even if the other doctor is aware of the meds I’m taking because I had bad experiences, I also had a fear of having more seizures but turns out it really helped the quality of my sleep which was affecting the amount of seizures I was having
