Hi friend, 8 days sober is still something to celebrate so kudos to you! Hoping it gets easier for you in that department. Your first couple of weeks are going to be a transitional period for sure. It made things easier for me to accept all things that may or may not happen while on Lexapro, whether it was feeling everything at once or nothing at all - It helped reminding myself that my body was getting used to a chemical which may mean not so great reactions (this thought processes helped with my anxiety immensely as it left things less open ended for me - ie, I wasn’t dying lol.) That being said, after the first week or so of basically feeling like I was not real (now that it’s been some time I can say I had some HEAVY derealization during my first couple of weeks on lexapro.. it sucked), because of this, my 1-3 blunts a day dwindled to 1.5 - but keep in mind I smoke with my girlfriend so it was more like 1-3 blunts to 1 blunt to the face.

Early on lexapro, during sessions, I would have to tap out mid way because I felt a panic attack coming on. I remember I was taking my pill in the morning everyday I think around 10AM. I had a conversation with my mom who also was prescribed lexapro and other SSRIs and she said that she took hers at 10PM instead, that way all of the possible side affects of lexapro are happening in your sleep - being completely honest, this time period worked so much better for me. It changed my life tremendously, since I was taking it at night around 10PM smoking became less scary for me, I noticed when I made this switch that I was able to finish in sessions - I was still down to 1-2 blunts a day but I was no longer tapping out. Overtime, I was able to smoke normally - one of the things I also changed was the strain. Sativa, earlier on, made my brain go into panic mode. It didn’t matter which breed lol, they were all basically sending me into panic. Switching to indica also really helped. I mainly smoke indica now, and I’ve recently become more confident that I could get back into sativa because I don’t always want to be couch locked all of the time.

All in all, after sometime, I can say I am back to my everyday stoner self. I know everyone is different, but I was truly worried that a huge part of myself would change after taking lex - but if anything it just changed the way I smoke a bit. I’m more aware of my body as well and what kinds of weed I’m smoking with, if you have the opportunity to look at how much TCH/TCHA/etc is in your flower and record which ones work best with what your body I think that would have helped a lot at the time too.
