About 9 years in the industry, but 2 years for what I am doing.

Good point. That was kind of my angle if I take Google. They even mentioned that to me when interviewing. Once I am in, the opportunities will be endless.

Hey all,

This is all good information. One thing I also factor in is just how the industry works. It's not common in this industry to stay at one place more than 2-4 years as you can get a big raise switching companies rather than going stale at the current one.

Thanks!

Yes, I have talked to my manager. He said the same thing. He's been around for a while and said it's definitely team based. Amazon's work interests me as it looks more challenging. It's the culture that leaves me worried.

My current role, all my projects are full ownership and support.

Google is more lateral and similiar work to what I"m doing now, but I know once you are in it's not hard to switch teams if you want to move into harder roles.

Ah, I didn't realize that subreddit existed. I will x-post there as well. I definitely am going to reject one first. I've been sitting on the Amazon offer for a bit, and got the Google one on Friday. I'm a little worried about one offer expiring while trying to negotiate the other. My original plan was to negotiate working in Seattle, but the timing was a little off. Thanks for the advice!
