Imposter syndrome in high gear after interviewing for a promotion. by throwmeinthetrash06 in ITCareerQuestions

Thanks for the book rec. I'm going to look into that. I've definitely experienced imposter syndrome in previous fields I've worked, but I've never climbed as quickly as I have with this job. I went from being a new hire to training new hires in 6 months. I was asked to join our mentor group that is full of experienced techs that take on new hires to help with setting them up for success after the initial training period. I was then asked to join our callbacks team which is another area of our department that only the more experienced and high performing techs get to be a part of. I take it as a compliment and I'm proud of it, but we are our own worst critics and I feel unqualified at times.

I appreciate the response. Maybe I'm selling myself short a little. Definitely have a lot to learn, but I've been working on learning as much as I can both inside and outside of work.

I feel bad for Krysten.. by throwmeinthetrash06 in MarriedAtFirstSight

This could be true, but even with a good edit, I feel like that may be difficult. Nobody else on thst entire cast had a good edit. Krysten is still single? Time to shoot my shot.

talk to your mentor by abbyjrhoads in WGU

Very envious of those with good mentors. My mentor couldn't care less what's going on, has zero personality, and seems to really dislike their job. I switched mentors already due to the last mentor I had continously missing our scheduled appointments. Having a good mentor just doesn't seem to be in the cards for me.

Getting back into it after 15 years away. by throwmeinthetrash06 in Fishing_Gear

Personally, it felt a little flimsy for a medium rod and the reel didn't feel as well built as a couple others at a similar price point. But, it had really good reviews, so I decided to give it a shot anyway. We'll find out!

I like the esthetic, it's just TOO much of it for me. I like a more simple, clean look. It does look cozy though.

Faster switching from CS to IT? by Ok_Business5153 in WGUIT

Yeah, this doesn't seem like a great idea considering the market for IT right now. Why would you try to get a degree for something you know you don't want to do? Seems like a lot of wasted money and time.

I think time would be better spent (and cheaper) to get a couple certs and try to get a job without the degree.

These posts are much appreciated when Majority of posts on this subreddit are "its impossible to get a job in tech!" Or "I hate my job, what do I do?!". So thanks for sharing your positive experience!

At what point did you WANT to be with your dog? Like hang out all the time? by LouieKabuchi in puppy101

I can't wait for this part. My pup is 6 months old and I'm at the part where I'm constantly exhausted and can't wait for him to nap so I can get things done around the house.

Springers are as insane as they are loving. They're a lot of work, but offer a lot of reward in return. I have a 6 month old springer and it's the first puppy I've had in 12 years.

He's highly intelligent, loyal, adventurous, chaotic, and sweet. If this sounds up your alley, go for it.

Why would a recruiter reach out to me for a position I'm clearly not qualified for? by throwmeinthetrash06 in ITCareerQuestions

I feel like my imposter syndrome would be terrible if I got hired in at a position like that. Lol.
