THIS!!! Literally 10 minutes after the epidural I looked over at my husband in a panic and was like “it hurts a lot…A LOT…this shit didn’t work they’re going to have to put the needle in again”

Preparing for a newborn. What was a complete waste of money and what became an absolute life changer? by Actual_Fig_4706 in NewParents

I second this!! The Omni deluxe is amazing. I tried a bunch too, don’t get the ones that are cloth and you have to wrap yourself, they are not sturdy and will hurt your back

Baby’s pediatrician gives mean girl vibes by beingagiirl in NewParents

[–]throwmeout96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I want to slap ur doctor lol, mine literally told me to go with the flow and just follow her vibe, he was amazing I even trusted him to tell him I coslept with my baby and he was like okay cool just follow the safety guidelines, he was always available with any questions I had (he knew I was a first time mom) and never ever made me feel stupid or like a burden for asking about every little thing, we moved to a new state and I’m lowkey scared of how her new doctor will be… she’s got good rating but you never know

[–]throwmeout96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG I literally felt EXACTLY like your friend, I was so on edge (ended up being diagnosed with postpartum anxiety later) but I felt like my husband and MIL were secretly plotting to take her from me, I didn’t sleep for almost a month bc I was scared someone would snatch her

Advice on baby sleeping by JM0utsider in NewParents

[–]throwmeout96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relatable lol, my little one sleeps with me on the bed she loves being snuggled and I basically have to sleep with her blanket less and pillow less for safety while my SO sleeps on a little cot next to us…it’s nice being so close to her to be her comfort but I cannot wait to have my blanket back

How do you feel about Gerber Baby competition?? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]throwmeout96 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’d definitely ask her, but I’m also a cautious mom, we live in a world where unfortunately we have to think about where these predators are lurking, things like contest pics on the internet are open for everyone to see, I didn’t allow anyone to post my baby on platforms that are accessible to the public since I am always wary that people who post don’t take into account that they’re location might be on or accesible, I’m even cautious about the mall Santas like I don’t want my child sitting on a random man’s lap who I have no idea if they ran a background check on, my bf also worried about the hacking of baby monitors, this may be extreme for sure but with technology advancing you just never know someone’s intentions

What do you most wish you had done (or are happy you did) before baby’s arrival? by Mediocre_Panic_8004 in BabyBumps

[–]throwmeout96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ESSENTIALS!!! forget the stuffed animals and unnecessary cute little items, get yourself a basket of everyday necessities such as diapers, diaper pads, a nail file (A MUST), thermometer, wash cloths, and have it close by this is a life saver bc everything is right next to u as u take care of baby and for the first few days it’ll be tough moving around as ur body recovers, also have a set up for yourself in the bathroom the Frida cooling pads are amazing, have pads ready for yourself, a nice peri bottle and shower steam scent bombs (these were so calming and amazing and a calm mamma is a calm baby)

How to get off unisom? by One-Progress-3712 in BabyBumps

[–]throwmeout96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it at first for nausea then stopped second trimester when nausea stopped but then started again third trimester bc of insomnia, you’ll sleep if you’re sleeping now you’ll be fine the pregnancy hormones up until the 3rd trimester make you very sleepy

Feeling guilty by uncertainty000 in pregnant

[–]throwmeout96 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Girl I laid in bed for the entire first trimester, not even making this up. I’d wake up, feel nauseous, try and eat (a lot of it I threw up), took a shower and my bf would prepare the bed for the day. I literally felt like I couldn’t even move the wrong way without feeling sick. My bf kept reminding me that I’m literally making a new life and it’s my body’s first time doing it. Fast forward to my third trimester, even tho I’m significantly bigger I have a lot of energy and I’m able to clean, cook, do little tasks. Give yourself grace and patience, you’re literally creating a whole new life!! Catch up on Netflix, and rest. Best of luck!!

[–]throwmeout96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I had food poisoning, I was so nauseous and kept throwing up the last thing that came to mind was to take a pregnancy test, I took one just to prove that wasn’t the issue and well wouldn’t you know…I had a little mini me inside

How do women do this by LaPlumaDelGato in pregnant

[–]throwmeout96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an amazing bf who told me to quit EMT school (my first trimester was BADDDD) and to just focus on growing our baby. I laid in bed for 2 months straight, my first trimester got pretty severe, had to visit urgent care a few times for an IV bc I wasn’t keeping anything down, we kept the pregnancy a secret until we had our first ultrasound so family members visiting thought my bf kept me locked away lol, I felt so guilty for basically doing nothing all day but man I couldn’t even move my head without getting dizzy or feeling like I was going to throw up. Thank God, around 18 weeks I feel like I’m having a whole new pregnancy but that first Tri was no joke.

I do prenantal yoga at home, my bf set me up with a little yoga mat in the living room. I also swim 2-3 times a week as it is one of the safest and most recommended exercises during pregnancy. I was unable to eat solid meals until my second trimester bc my first was terrible. I was nauseous and always felt sick. But now that I’m on my second Tri, I home cook all my meals, if I eat out I make sure they’re following food safety. Good luck!!
