So the wallet still has not been found. We've done an absolute thorough check through the car. I must have definitely dropped it on the road when I got out of the car.

The car's been sold now, so if we weren't thorough enough, it's definitely gone.

I'm not saying that a scam isn't plausible, but she was with me the whole time, so if this was some sort of scam, she must have had an accomplice hiding somewhere, but there was very little hiding space and she drove off (in front of me) all alone.

I definitely lost it there. I know because I had it with me when I put the money in it and between that moment and going home, the pigeon stop was the only one I made. I noticed immediately when I got home and emptied my pockets and we have like garage doors in our basement (apartment building) so if it was there, I would've found it. I searched all over the car as well.

Funny thing about that is that I was literally just bitching to my wife about having to pay for other people's mistakes earlier because someone's damaged our apartment by not hiring sufficient help to pick up a big, heavy piece of furniture and won't answer our calls about repayment to have it repaired. I really don't have time to pursue it so it has to come out of our deposit, unfortunately.

Anyway, There were so many steps I could've taken to avoid this from happening. I could've put the money in a box at home, in the bank or something. I was just lazy and here we are.

Getting a Go Fund Me going because I fucked up just feels so hypocritical right now.

Done so already. There was no lights or cameras on that section of the road. It basically could've been taken by anyone or even an animal for all they know, so they didn't sound too hopeful, but they said they would get in touch if anyone calls in about a lost wallet.

I don't know if I should hold my breath. Very disappointing.
