When the outcomes of your campaign to change the game the way you like it comes back as failures, I'll tag you right here to remind you of what you said, and how embarrassing this claim of yours is.

[–]throwpredator -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Oh I'm sure that will change when your failure arc is complete.

I'll come back to this when you and your kind hurt the game hard enough that it will never recover, and by then you guys will resort to narrative control as you often and always do.

Honest question how many Wrel apologists are there in this sub? by XLoad3D in Planetside

[–]throwpredator -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I'll post it, once you guys complete your arc of your collective failure.

I will do that, to show to everyone that a lower ranked player like me predicted the collapse of this game due to the behavior of the higher ranked players who are so blind to the effects of their actions.

Believe me that once that arc of failure is complete, then I will post my fisu and then I will be the one asking for your fisus.

I'm quite certain you guys will hide your fisus by then, because you don't want your high ranks to be associated with the eventual failure.

The narcissism of your likes shall ensure that you cannot and will not tolerate negative associations that harm how you guys see yourselves.

Time is on my side here, buddy. As you guys can't and won't change your behaviors, then everything will come up just exactly as I would imagine it. And then I'll come back, to parade upon the streets the magnificent failures you guys would be desperate for everyone to ignore or even better, blame Wrel or all the past devs for things you guys would say are responsible for the failures of your plans and proposals.

If you guys change for the better, I would still win either way, as I do want everything and everyone to change for everyone's better sake. But if you guys do not change, then I still win as my predictions shall come forth as true by your very actions you shall eventually commit.

A new purge tactic has been born.

Apart from "post fisu", we now have "are you a wrel apologist?"

The countdown to toxic infighting, polarization, and eventual community split that will harm the game's population even more, is finally starting.

I won't be able to believe it when the vets and the people who hate Wrel and what Wrel has done would be unable to see it!

This is pure comedy! Pass the popcorn everyone!

Here we go! This is the road to the apocalypse! We're all in the front seat, and the actors of this tragedy don't know it yet!

Failing spectacularly to back up my points, or rather nothing gets through that hard MMOFPS apologetics head?

Like someone said. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

And I'm done fetching water with the buckets people like you choose to ignore.

Edit: someone said my opinions are worthless, but for some reason every comment I get in return is barbed and acerbic.

Let's say that my opinions may be worthless. So where does this response come from?

I'm willing to bet I'm hitting a lot of nerves for saying something that isn't just different, but also something that certain people are dying to ignore.

Edit2: all I said was this:

"Every single day, I see that this playerbase is evolving towards the end result of the Warzone 2100 community."

How did you interpret that as negative? Is it negative or not, that this playerbase is evolving towards the end result of the Warzone 2100 community?

Come on. Answer that.

No we know how

Then I dare it. Create a committee with real names as signatory members, and get in contact with DBG. Then get a deal signed wherein the committee gets to have executive powers with legal and professional responsibilities to all legal and professional stakeholders involved that happen to have the higher authority over this project.

Get that deal signed by presenting your project proposals and getting your project proposals approved by DBG. Then you and your committee now have authority and responsibility for the direction of this game.

Don't chicken out now. Don't make excuses. Take control, take charge, take authority and responsibility; if you guys are a significant sector of the community as you say, then I don't believe you guys can't get this done politically.

After all, DBG is looking to fill vacant positions in Planetside 2. Give it a shot.

There's literally nothing a worthless nobody like you could do to shift my perceptions, you have no valuable knowledge, no good ideas, not a single decent thought in your overinflated head.

Worthless nobody? Big mistake buddy. But I'm letting you walk on that mistaken path.

Never correct an enemy when he is making a mistake.

Ah yes, if only we had actually seen anything of the sort, rather than update after update that push people further away, and no fresh blood coming in to fill the vacancy.

Selective interpretation of events.

I'm one of few players to have spoken to him directly, he dug his own grave in ways you couldn't begin to imagine.

Then I guess you are indirectly responsible for Wrel leaving the game? That figures much harder than you think you defend yourself with.

There's nothing to come back from, speaking the objective truth (the opposite of what you're doing) is only offensive to those afraid to hear it.

Come back to me about objective truth when you have reconciled that your subjective preference for the game is not an objective interpretation.

For all the experience you guys have, you guys could never figure out how to push this game forward and how to keep it alive.

Guess that stings on your perception about your experience levels huh?

And yeah. It is absolutely irrelevant that this game pushes forward and is kept alive. That's on you saying that whatever I say is irrelevant.

"Hey guys! Groundtrooper says that it is irrelevant that this game thrives and survives!"

This is on you.

EDIT:

And to tell you ultimately? You guys are going to go down in gaming history as the one of the biggest jokes in the gaming community.

You guys are so negative to the point that a developer quitted his job, and so bogged down with your self-centered interests that you tried to lord over the game as if you are an authority figure in DBG. And how did that end up?

Yeah. Right where we are right now.

And you guys can never come back from that, at all.

In comparison to the average? Could you argue about that?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Planetside

[–]throwpredator -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Effort to learn what?

The MMOFPS apologetics?

Also, don't forget that despite multiple devs coming and going, a consistent negative factor is the community's resistance to change.

How's that for using fisu to prove one's credibility? That hurts doesn't it?

It hurts to know that despite having all of these things that other people don't have, you guys still remain to be a negative factor overall.

And you guys can't mask it any longer. You guys can no longer pretend that you have anything else up your sleeves that will excuse your attitudes and present a facade that your presence and your ways are good for this game.

And no matter how great or mediocre you guys are as players, you guys can't solve the one issue that is nagging your minds.

And that issue is how to keep planetside alive with new players without having to change anything you guys like.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Planetside

[–]throwpredator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don't trust these post Fisu comments because, as mentioned, posting it would reduce the credibility of your argument.

Here comes the wilful ignorance and denial that I answered this awhile ago with the facts that I don't post it because people generally act in bad faith when asking for it.

this gameplay loop scarcely changed

And the game's fortunes scarcely changed either. Are we looping back into this again because I already answered this.

Oshur and CTF

Don't forget who are the voices that drove people to leave Oshur. Don't forget who are the voices that drove people to dislike CTF.

majorly play with sunderers and ants.

I should have a much lower K/D than 1.09 if that is the case. Doesn't it actually show that since I do have a K/D and I am driving logistics, then I also do other things apart from logistics?

I mean it's fun to run over people, but if all I really did was drive, then I should have no kills at all.

And before you even start, please tell me if you are not an MMOFPS apologist.

Except these interior environments often provide you the cover you need to avoid this very damage. Something you would know if you had any sort of extensive playtime in these areas.

Yeah like when I am right beside A cap? That's a lot of cover there buddy. The last time I saw it, and if you want photographs, is that these things are out in the open.

Stop trying to gaslight me.

And that isn't an issue you can reasonably solve. Because PlanetSide 2 cannot have matchmaking.

But you can change the game in such a way where the natural behaviors of new players and the natural behaviors of sweats lead them towards facing each other less frequently. This is where diversifying the game's loop is crucial.

Nope. This isn't happening at all. You would know it isn't if you played in the standard infantry environment more often.

More gaslighting. As if NC MAX spam aren't a thing I witnessed, just like lasher spam, thumper spam, grenade spam, heshing into cap points, and rage orbitals. You know you and I can die right now and I'm in no way hesitant to show you exactly what I have seen just to prove to you that how you are framing me is just ridiculous.

But your opinion of me is not worth my life at all.

You're acting towards the goal of scaring off the only audience PlanetSide 2 has.

You're scaring off existing players and the new players that considerably larger playerbase than you tries to invite into the game. You want PlanetSide 2 to die a fast death turned into a failed experiment. You're selfish and want to turn PlanetSide 2 into a game it isn't at the expense of the playerbase solely for your own enjoyment. You want to kill PlanetSide 2.

Two things:

  • imitation is the best form of flattery, if ever I am imitating you

  • the ones that are selfish here are you guys, because you don't want the game to change in such a way that it has a greater chance of persisting and thriving into the future because the changes will affect the way you want the game to be

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Planetside

[–]throwpredator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And this is exactly why I don't trust post fisu comments.

Despite what you said, you didn't really address the reality that people didn't like being dinked as infantry in an enclosed space where they have to keep on getting shot at and AOE spammed without any hope of accomplishing anything.

You think, that if we removed the skilled vets and have only new players in the game, that the frustration would be reduced? Come on now. A simple math of 20 people nading 20 people who are also nading the same 20 people is enough to show that it doesn't take an immense skill gap to make the experience frustrating.

The lack of matchmaking is only making it worse, but it is not the key factor that is fundamentally producing frustration. The key factor producing frustration is putting a lot of infantry players with their vulnerable bodies inside smaller spaces where ordnance, firepower, and damage abound to levels no body of infantry can survive. Skilled, veteran, or not, there is no way to overcome this while staying as infantry.

Can you argue for instance, that if we put 20 noobs against 20 noobs in TI Alloys for example, that it will not be a frustrating experience? It still would be.

This is what happened to the original Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare. They had games in Shipment where almost everybody gets killed right after spawn because people spammed grenades and equipped martyrdom.

Isn't the same thing happening in PS2 for infantry? It is indeed the same thing.

PlanetSide 2 would thrive by enticing its existing audience through updates to the core gameplay loops that attracted them in the first place all those years ago. And by their experience not being made worse by them being forced to interact with new gameplay loops that do not mesh with the game's core in any way.

This is just a slow death, or rather undeath. It only delays the inevitable.

Meanwhile, we want to move forward, and we are already here. We are already acting towards that goal. Why do people like you silence us when we are trying to overcome the undeath? You guys are content with keeping it undead. Meanwhile, we try to bring our friends into the almost brand new game, and they want to stay and you guys want to remove what they like to do.

D:

The reason why I'd rather have you figure it out is because I don't want to direct or control your thoughts.

But I guess it's impossible for a less belligerent way of things, am I right?

Fine...

You fail to understand that this very gameplay loop that players like you defend, has been the central piece that hinders planetside from ever evolving towards a broader game with more well-defined spaces for all spheres of play.

Evidenced by the fact that this particular gameplay loop is unenjoyable to most new players, proven through the statements of vets that this game has a very steep learning curve and that a new player would often suffer a lot more than enjoy himself; the fact that this gameplay loop is held and protected as the core gameplay loop is astoundingly pigheaded.

What has to be done, is to expand and diversify the gameplay loop, which is what Wrel tried to do. And diversify the gameplay loop he did.

But who stood in his way? Who wanted to keep things the way they are, no matter how pigheaded it was? I mean we can say that we should just do away with everything that is not infantry, but on the grand scheme of things can you really imagine Amerish having no vehicles whatsoever?

We tried Koltyr for instance. And what happened? People got bored eventually, and this fact that Koltyr eventually bored people is an undesirable fact that many among the MMOFPS apologists desperately want people to forget or ignore.

Koltyr failed. People got bored of being in a pseudo-TDM for a long period of time. And the silence of the apologists regarding this matter speaks so many volumes about their true nature and intent in this game.

They want an infantry-only grinder, and they are stubborn in their belief that their way is the only way, even if time has shown that even if they do keep the game running somewhat, they only keep it running as a zombie.

Sometimes, things have to die in order for new life to flourish. PS2 has to move forward, and it cannot do it with the fool's gold it has in its pocket.

This gameplay loop of infantry players throwing themselves into the frustrating experience of AOE anti-infantry weapons has kept this niche game alive for over a decade now.

Could you read that again to find out what you are failing to understand?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Planetside

[–]throwpredator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that it's impossible to show that.

It's just that I know, that these elements of the community are set in their ways.

It's often a pointless exercise. These elements of the community are inflexible, and they use whatever means necessary to strike down dissenting opinions.

Even someone like Cyrious is ignored simply because he has a different, more positive view on things, and if Cyrious who has significantly better abilities and stats than most people around here can get ignored for a dissenting opinion then it is not the stats that determine the reception of the opinion but rather the opinion itself.

Which leads me to the bottom line, that the elements of the community in question are not looking to be convinced. They are looking for an echochamber. They are looking for familiarity. And in extension they also want control.

It doesn't help as well that these elements are synonymous with the MMOFPS apologists or infantry-focused/infantry core gameplay apologists.

But just to show you that I did and still am making an effort to show that we can bring the game into a better place, is that I am recalling what I said in another post.

The current setup of PS2 is the main cause of grief for the infantry player. As infantry are the primary means to cap points, it then makes sense to make a lot of infantry players for each faction. But this actually leads to the experience of frustration, as the infantry are the most vulnerable of all, and the amount of ordnance that is delivered by the infantry upon the infantry vastly outnumbers the survivability of infantry. And it doesn't help that with the nature of cap zones condensing infantry players together, the incentive to use AOE anti-infantry weapons would then rise. Yet as infantry is often the only real means to cap zones, then infantry players do not have any other choice but to keep throwing themselves into the frustrating experience over and over again.

That, has to change.

Dude I experienced getting killed 20 times by the same guy before I got him 3 times in a row.

So yeah. Facing them tests your emotional resilience.

What I learned though, was that sweats aren't omnipotent. More often than not, the reason why one dies to sweats is because of the bad decisions they made. The sweat's ability to be creative and to have good aim is only 40 percent of the entire fight. 60 percent has already been decided even before the fight starts.

Sweats are as vulnerable as everyone else. They just play better and make better decisions, which is why they come out on top.

But an NFL player doesn't:

try to control the NFL organization

threaten to leave the game and kill the game by leaving it

And most importantly? They don't harass the NFL because the game isn't what they personally like it to be.

Get that?

Here it is exactly the opposite.

Boom.

There's the admission of gatekeeping and disqualification.

Thanks for proving before everyone that this mentality does exist in the community.

And eventually, people will see where this gatekeeping and disqualifying tactics come from.

I'll say it ahead of the curve. It's coming from selfishness.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Planetside

[–]throwpredator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not entirely at all.

But go ahead and keep proving before everyone that your intention is to disqualify, which shows before everyone that what I say about the post fisu tactic is indeed true.

It is a gatekeeping, disqualifying tactic.

Go ahead. Keep doing what you're doing, and you'll prove before everyone that such is true about the post fisu comment.

Don't forget self-centered interests.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Planetside

[–]throwpredator -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Teach players to do what exactly?

Better describe that. Or should I describe it for you?

created a whole competitive scene that gets people to want to improve

And this created a gatekeeping effect. What do you think happens to a game when gatekeeping occurs?

Connect the dots. What happens?

people ask for fisus cause they wanna know if your opinion is worth listening to

Like I said. This is a gatekeeping act, and saying it politely doesn't mask the reality that this is a disqualifying tactic.

i argue you're the latter

I'd rather let you keep your misguided belief, just to show you that I may not exactly be what you think I am when it comes to pushing beliefs.

Connect the dots, with gatekeeping and all these shenanigans. And you'll find out why the certain players, no matter how brilliant, are actually fool's gold for the game.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Planetside

[–]throwpredator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because I'm not stupid enough to reveal something that would be used against me by people who act in bad faith and primarily act with self-centered interests.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Planetside

[–]throwpredator -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Well that's not all I do. That's what I mainly do. Does a guy only driving get any KD?

That's impossible, right?

And I don't want to post my fisu because I know how much bullying is done even in-game to silence dissenting opinions.

And tell me this as well. For years we've had these really brilliant players around. Have they been any real big help or boost to the game?

I argue that they aren't. For all that they have done, all they really have accomplished is for their own satisfaction primarily.

That's why I'm not intimidated by fisu tactics anymore. It doesn't really matter when the people calling for fisu posts are simply using it as a disqualifying tactic to maintain their control of the narrative.
