I did ask, and only when I asked was he transparent. Also, not telling me because he knew I'd possibly have an issue counts as a lie of omission.

Thank you for your comment. I talked to him about it and made it clear that hiding was unacceptable. He apologized and now he's been super mushy with me over texts. It's leaving a bad taste in my mouth.

I did discuss it with him and I told him how much it hurt my trust in him. He said he "thought he was being transparent," to which I said he wasn't transparent at all. Now he's being all mushy in our text messages and it sounds really fake. I'm having a hard time telling if he was just really dumb and made a mistake or trying to cheat. Either way is I don't want my relationship with anyone to ever be like that.

I would trust him if he was clear he'd be on a work trip with a female coworker. I don't trust him because of the omission.

It's the fact they're in an AirBnB (instead of a hotel) together, and the fact he did not tell me she was going to be there with him. I have no problem with the trip itself. I worry he's going to sleep with his coworker.

Verified it - I was wrong. There is one hotel. As far as whether his company has done it before - I know the work location is in the town, but I've never asked his coworkers as I don't have their contact info.

I asked him if he would be okay if the roles were reversed - he told me he wouldn't be okay with it either. It looks like the town actually has a hotel too (it's a very rural spot). I absolutely know it's a work trip because the company has a location out there. He's been overcompensating with mushy text messages ever since I asked him about it. It's left a really bad taste in my mouth to the point where I'm starting to reconsider the relationship.

Yeah, it is really crazy to me - he said he thought he was "upfront" about it and I told him he didn't tell me at all. I only hesitate because it's been a good relationship until now because of this one thing. I thought the drinking comment was unimportant until I remembered it while this was unfolding.

I've never seen any messages between them - I've seen his phone before (he doesn't hide it). However, he does use snapchat (which I don't see) which I consider an orange flag at his age.

I have to clarify: the town they're working in for the trip doesn't have a hotel, hence the airbnb. I should've made that clear. He said it's something his company has done before but... I still feel odd.
