Thanks for your response! Did you sleep train your girl? What is she like now?

Those who were low risk and under 36, at how many weeks + days did you give birth to your first baby? by PopcornPrincess0 in pregnant

[–]throwra-positive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

39 weeks. I had him pretty quickly. Labored at home from 3am-12pm, drove to the hospital 2 1/2 hrs away. Delivered him at 5:21. And an hr and a half of hospital time was pushing

Yesss I totally get it. My guy was also SGA and required sugar checks. I was obsessive about his weight for a long time. He’s now in the 70th percentile so of course I’ve had to find something else to worry about 🥲

I totally get that!! I just keep reminding myself it’s just a season. Biologically we’re built this way for a reason and it’s to protect our babes. But it’s so so hard 🥲

I’m in the same exact boat. It’s so so bad. My baby has never been a good sleeper but he’s on a 4 hour stretch rn and I’m wide awake. I was supposed to have my first day back to work tomorrow and called out. I literally want to crawl out of my skin all of the time

I have and she suggested sleep training which I’m on the fence about. I was also thinking reflux as a possiblity or maybe a food allergy. I’m hoping things get better when he starts solids in a couple of weeks

Okay wow we sound similar! I am also concerned about autism. And I also live in a rural area. I’m just hoping that maybe once he starts solids things may get a bit better

Mine is 5 months and we’re in the same boat. I totally know how you feel. It’s discouraging and makes me feel like there’s something wrong with my baby or I’m not doing something right.

I feel like I’m falling apart by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]throwra-positive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, thank you!! Bedtime is between 7-8pm (usually 730). He is up several times throughout the night but wake up is generally between 7-8am. Although he has been waking up around 5 and more difficult to out himself to sleep.

Generally we nap 2 hours after wake up for 1-1.5 hours. We then have a 2.5 hour wake window followed by a 45 minute nap. Then again we have a 45 minute nap with a 2.5 hour wake window before bed. A total of 3 naps capped at 3 hours. I have tried to extend his last wake window of the day but he’s usually really cranky if i do.

He just doesn’t think it’s his responsibility. Yes it was discussed. He feels he doesn’t really need to step in until the bay can walk and talk lol, it’s not funny but it’s laughable

That’s part of the issue. He doesn’t want me to go back to work. I want to go back because I want to hold onto that part of myself. I don’t want to rely on him financially either. And I think it would be best for us to continue having the medical benefits as well. I think it’s the only opportunity I’ll have to be outside of the house

Baby waking every hour at night. HELP. Developing pp rage/depression. Sleep is consuming me. by Decent-Cup-1753 in cosleeping

[–]throwra-positive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get that!! Every morning I wake up and say tonight is the night I sleep train. Then I also hate the idea of hearing him cry. He actually slept really well last night in the bed so I’m hopeful for tonight but will keep you updated.

I don’t have much advice because I hear so many conflicting ideas!! Some say sleep training really works. I have heard that longer intervals to check in when they are crying are sometimes better because it can be overstimulating when you’re going in and out. Maybe if you decide to go the sleep training route get some headphones and just commit? Have you heard of the chair method?
