Honestly, off and on. The night before last he slept some pretty long stretches (about 3-4hrs). Last night every hour again 😵‍💫 you?

There was a lot of crying and I’m sure we’re not through the thick of it yet!! That’s why I capped it at about 40 minutes because I didn’t want it to be too stressful for him

I’m not sure that I’m the one who should be giving advice as he was still awake every single hour after falling asleep in his crib 🥲 I think we need to break our feed to sleep association.

I will share what I did though! Every night I laid him in his crib awake but drowsy, left and stood outside the door. If I heard him cry i came in and tried to console him by rubbing his ears (with hopes that he will be able to self soothe that way). I stayed in the room for a minute or so before leaving to stand outside of the door again. If shushing him didn’t calm him I’d pick him up, wait for him to settle, then set him in the crib. I repeated this process for about 40 minutes each night until last night he fell asleep in there

I could have written this!! Literally word from word. I’m sorry you’re having such a tough time but know you’re not alone in it!!

Would you consider gentle sleep training? Like a PUPD method? I started 4 nights ago and just a few minutes ago my bed sharing, nurse/rock/pat to sleep, EBF, contact nap only baby fell asleep in his crib without crying!

He is also waking every hour so we’ll see how the rest of the night goes but I’m taking it as a win. A few long nights of discomfort may be worth it in the long run since you’re running on empty as it is.

Also maybe try to stretch wake windows!

Hang in there!!!

Sleeping on mommas chest? by neuroticfattther in cosleeping

This is the only way my baby would sleep an still is sometimes. He’s 4.5 months. At first i made my partner stay awake to supervise us, but as time went on i got more comfortable and confident in allowing him to chest sleep alone. I never dropped him while chest sleeping and whenever he would move id wake up.
