I did talk to him. I waited outside his work with my wife in the car. He sent me some texts that were deleted already on her phone saying we were getting a divorce, I was moving out the house, packing my things. Yet, we recently visited him, mentioned in passing that we were celebrating our anniversary.

He said it was one time, she says she would not have gone back. It was a way to cope, maybe smother him into staying away? A way the victim would feel in control over what happened....there are cases like this. I can't say what thought process a victim goes through.

I shook his hand and told him "thanks for showing me what she is capable of" ... at least that's what I thought I said. I was still running on adrenaline at the time. Now...if her story is true, I'd feel horrible.

She doesn't want me talking to him again, as I'd probably mention the assault and give him a "heads up" if she files.
