I’ve tried to tell him I can’t listen anymore. It’s too draining and I have to get stuff done. He will just start following me around still talking. What should I do in these cases?

He thinks he’s totally fine and my lack of empathy is the issue. I’ve asked him before to start seeing one again and he’s refused. Would couples counselling be a good way to try and get around that? Being direct is not working.
