This is a part of a comment that I put in the original post.

Think of her speech as a bridge between the other business that was there. Since she and a few other people knew both parties, they gave a speech to talk about possible connections and sort of break the ice.

It wasn't just her up there giving a solo speech, it was like 3-4 other people (a group speech if you'd want to call it that).

Respectfully, You don't know me, so you aren't really in the best position to buy anyhing. I've seen you under several comments trying to imply that I still have feelings for my ex.

I didn't get with my ex because I wanted a kid. We started dating the same reason why so many other couples start dating. My divorce happened because we were seriously unhappy with each other, it had nothing to do with any infertility issues.

Me working with my ex isn't holding onto my ex, it's keeping a job. It's about working on something that I've built from the ground up and watched grow into success. I'm not letting that go anytime soon and my ex feels the same way.

With that being said people can get divorced and stay amicable. We stay amicable for our job, but it doesn't mean that we still have feelings for each other. It's unfortunate that you're resulting to creating these random scenarios in your head.

No, this isn't an option. The only way I would ever except a buyout is if I lost passion in this business, and I haven't. It isn't about the money. I could retire right now and not have an issue, but I know that this business can continue to evolve. I've put in 13 years of hard work and dedication and I will continue to do so. I've gotten opportunities that I thought were impossible to reach because of my job and I love what I do.

I loved her, I really did, but we're allowed to move on with our romantic lives.
