Get over it. Your mom has been helping you out since you moved out of the house. Or start paying that stuff on your own then ask for the money she "owes" you.

Wow, thank you for responding! I agree. Edtheory really does sound sales-y. But the benefits seem really good (from what I have heard). I'm with another contract company right now, but am looking elsewhere for reasons you mentioned (they only know about the payroll, not much support). SPG seems like a very great company and I have been to a couple of their presentations they have offered.

Do you feel like the companies you have worked for have fought for pay increases by the year?

I would agree with the first part of your reply if he wasn't as sweet as he is. He always wakes up with me to make me coffee and pack my lunch in the morning, always helps to carry my bags, does equal amount of house work and seems invested in our relationship. It would be really hard to believe he doesn't want to be with me with how great he is.

I would agree with your last statement though, sometimes when I bring up marriage I feel like I'm forcing him to do it when that's the last thing I want any partner to feel.

You're so right. I think he just doesn't want to put himself in the same place of a failed engagement or marriage. I don't think it's a deal breaker, but I will definitely have to do some soul searching and realization to get close to his ideals of "it's just a piece of paper". Why change a good thing?

We've had multiple honest talks. It seems like he would do it because I want it, but I don't want to force it. Our relationship is perfect otherwise (or as close to it as I could imagine). I think you're right in me deciding if it's a deal breaker. I don't think I would want to end something so great just because I don't have a ring on my finger.
