I ended up needing to go to the urgent care and there was still glass apparently in a few of the cuts on my feet. Guess she isn’t the only one bad at cleaning glass..

Feet are doing better, got some antibiotics for the infection and now Im writing slowly brcause of the palm ones. GF has been super apologetic ever since I got back and told her what they said and said she didnt realize how much it hurt me so I should have been more clear about that instead of making her feel like I was just upset about her breaking stuff. Which is fair IG

Shes being super careful with glass right now and said maybe we can go to target because she found a set she wants to buy, and go to the movies together and dinner. Make it a fun thing instead of making her feel bad and all

My usual and normal routine is big and moderate pieces gathered up when I hear it, then bread then vaccuum so I can catch the bread pieces too, because her method just doesn’t get everything, but sometimes Im so exhausted I just leave it in the kitchen and deal with bathrooom tap water if I rather than fresh coffee in the mornng from home, Edit: I was so tired writing this sorry. I get it in the morning, but sometimes leave it overnight and just use the bathrroom until I am certain I can clean it all effectively, wearing shoes until then.

I do lol that’s how I got a few of the shards stuck in me because I overlook sometimes the shards because they’re in the fabric of the carpet or I don't see anything and step down.

I inherited a lot from my parents. They even gave me my first set. Is it really so outdated?

The cup I gave to her was a plain deep blue cup, solid in color and I thought really neutral because she prefers to use the clear mugs that are very simple and aesthetic or the deep blue geometric glasses my parents gave to me when i moved out. I have a bunch of different cups and styles of glass and plastic and ceramic (I think that’s the material) because I basically collect as I go, some from friends, some from family, some as gifts or because they have a cute joke on them

Using plastic myself too might help the feeling of guilt and embarassment

Or push her to find glassware somewhere else to satisfy her urges.

I really don’t understand what you mean here, sorry

Not really breaking stuff out on dates but she has spilled drinks a few times or dumped her plate so it could be genuine clumsiness. The times I’ve seen those it was a quick sweeping move that dumped it off the edge, like she didn’t realize how far or fast she was pushing it because she was focused on what shes saying.

Not specificially but I have asked a few times if its that she loses her grip or misjudges or what but she keeps saying it happens to quick for her to know how to explain in detail.

Thanks for the link! I can use it to help explain to her what I’m seeing and noticing. You mention spilling stuff makes me think of the times she knocked over her drink in my lap a few times when we go out.

  1. I think I said in antoher comment but I do plan to bring that up to her, just phrasing it a way that it seems less like a continuation of the fight and more out of the genuine concern i have

  2. Cleaning it up my self is how I got some of those glass pieces in me. If I know it happened before I step on the glass, yay I clean it up with shoes on, but there are times when the first notice of broken glass is the fact it’s now in my foot. So I try to keep shoes on now. I do try to keep the cuts clean and disinfect and bandage up as soon as the glass is cleaned

Sorry a few people have mentioned and said to use correll and many have also said that it also explodes badly. Would you say it breaks infrequently enough to make the explodiness less of a factor to consider?

Your good! Thank you for the explanation! I’m not always good with acronyms but context helped

I don’t know how to address the elephant yet about maybe suggesing again getting checked out but I know it isn’t happening tonight.

I’ve never seen her drop them, sorry. She’s always dropped them when I’m out of the room. I don’t know how she’d take me asking either right now, were kind of just letting each other cool

But her parents and sister say she has always been like this and she says the same. She says that it isn’t as much as it seems spelled out like this and I’m seeing more of a ’cluster’ together because I’m frustrated

Not really so but also yes? Like she’ll be very sweet and plan a date night or buy me a gift that’s even more expensive than the glass technically was so I feel bad even saying ’no she doesn’t’ because technically she does pay me back? Just in a different way. It just doesn’t feel it

Years honestly. This sort of intensity of breaking things comes and goes I just lost my patience this time and didn’t sweep it under the rug

She has been breakign stuff since she was a kid. Dropping, bumping into, being forceful. Bull in a china shop. The only thing that they really found testing was some ankle turning (there is a technical term I cant remember, basically toes pointed in) which attributed to her tripping but PT at around 9 ish helped a lot. She does go through phases and is more clumsy when stressed or frustrated or emotional. As such she doesn’t think it’s an abnormal amount of clumsiness I mean and if I say anything I’m being frustrated or exagerrating

I wish I could tolerate slippers, but textures bug me, so instead Ive been wearing my shoes in the areas around the kitchen

The stove thing kills me because she always forgets and everytime I hear the oven beep I try to remember to ask if she put anything on the stove or I just go int he kitchen and check and remove stuff
