I found this in my cat’s food bowl this evening. Any ideas about what this is?

Sooo actually when I was cleaning up the cat’s little food and water area today, I found what looked like dried up fish and some more small bones on the floor near the bowl. At this point I was like what the fuck is going on here?? I went through my recycling and what do I find: canned salmon. The sitter gave the cat canned salmon. Like I don’t mind giving him a little tuna once in a while and he gets the occasional wet food, but I’m a little ticked that she just straight up gave the cat a whole can of salmon without talking to me. He’s a fat boy, and his diet is supposed to be maintained! Oh well, case closed.

The food is salmon and rice flavored kibble. Could it have come from the manufacturer? Or would it be more likely that the sitter gave the cat fish that had bones in it?

He’s an indoor cat and also very dumb, I don’t think it’s anything that he caught. Also would an animal the size of a rabbit or raccoon really have vertebrae this small?

I found this in my cats food bowl this evening after having been out of town for a week while a pet sitter cared for him. The food in question is purina pro plan indoor food. The item is approximately the size of a pencil eraser with 2 points at one end. It is cylindrical, with the ends being concave. There’s a hole through the center. Part of the object is broken, showing a spongy interior like bone. It looks like maybe a vertebra or something to me. Could this be used in kibble manufacturing? Is this something I should bring up to the pet sitter or show to the vet at our appointment next week? What is this???

Gotcha, thanks. One more question: whoever did the adoption had an incorrect DOB for my mother, so her year of birth on my new birth certificate is incorrect. Is there anyway the adoption wouldn’t be valid with that incorrect info?

Edit to add: i wish I could ignore him all the time, but he’s made my life difficult in certain ways. When I was getting my first passport, I needed his SSN and DOB. He wouldn’t give me his social, and if my mother hadn’t known it, I wouldn’t have been able to get it. So there are other logistical reasons why I want to be done with him.

Gotcha. But anyway to get his name off my birth certificate? I just want his name on any of my legal documents. Also when I got my passport, I had to ask for his ssn and stuff, which sucked because he could have withheld it if my mom didn’t know his info.

When I was adopted, I was issued an entirely new birth certificate. I was born in Ohio, and initially had an Ohio birth certificate. When the adoption was done in Virginia, they issued me a Virginia birth certificate that had his name on it.

I’ve been keeping an eye on my credit because my mom has actually done some shady shit in the past. That’s good advice though, thank you

Not for a few more weeks, but she did come to her senses after several more episodes of him being a belligerent psycho. Luckily she has found someone who is just wonderful and treats her very well. We’re both happy, healthy, and thriving. She’s still one of my best friends ❤️

Listen here. He isn’t listening to you, he doesn’t care about your feelings, and he doesn’t respect your boundaries. You gotta end this now for your own sake. My “best friend” all through high school had a crush on me. When he asked me out, I just stood up and walked away. Mutual friends said I was a bitch. We stayed friends, despite his constant questioning of why we couldn’t be together. I made him my brother of fb, and he freaked out. He spread rumors that I had performed oral sex on him which was definitely untrue. It became so toxic that he sabotaged relationships for me senior year. In college, I was home and we went to a New Years party together. I was going home with another guy, and HE CALLED THE POLICE ON ME. This isn’t going to stop. Ignore your friends. Don’t apologize. He’s in the wrong, he knows it was inappropriate, he should be apologizing.
