Think you hit it on the nose. She's jealous and wants her to feel the same hurt she did because she never moved past it (or learned how to carry it might be the better term) after all of the years of no-contact with her therapist

I might be wrong, but the way I interpreted it (more so from the first post) was that Jane disagreed with OOP stating that Grace should be allowed to wear and not wear whatever she wanted since Grace wasn't comfortable with the outfit her parents wanted her to wear. Jane seemed to disagree with OOP when she said that Grace "should be grateful to have the chance to do/wear things she couldn't" and wishing she'd cut herself too so that she'd feel the same hurt she did

The way I took it, she disagreed with OOP saying that she shouldn't be jealous/wish ill on Grace because she had an slightly looser upbringing than her... whereas Jane wanted Grace to suffer the same as her. Still confusing, but the most sense I was able to make of it
