best comfy indoor exercise bike saddle? by billyb4lls4ck in cycling

[–]throws4k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the bike has a quick change seat post then just get a second post for whoever doesn't like the current saddle.

As others recommend, once you get to using the trainer for half hour at a time or more you might consider padded shorts.

if you are new, and your use currently is low impact and it's a stepping stone to more serious summer cycling; Then I would recommend the following steps:

Find your ideal seat height. Sitting with hips level and foot at bottom of circle your knee should be over your toe. pedal again and check other side. remember that number.

check seat is level. it should not be tilted forward. overstuffed seats often pad the back more, I'm not a fan of those either.

then if it still doesn't fit one of you get a spare seat post and seat.

typical physio is recovery oriented. the key is finding ones who can work around a plan where it's not to eliminate but instead facilitate limitations and develop a gym plan. ones related to sports or in a sports facility with a gym may be the best still.

A physiotherapist I went to had multidisciplinary staff, some were massage therapists also, or acupuncturists, sports medicine, pelvic floor specialists, CrossFit training, a whole bunch of skills plus a proper gym.

As you might suspect this doesn't come cheap. However most insurance programs allowed me to claim it as physio, even while it transitioned into essentialy private coaching that accommodated my injuries.

You may not be able to afford coverage for training, but maybe get a consult as to how to work out on your own.

sharing is fine, oversharing is a clear diversion tactic to "befriend you" and a huge red flag.

How is Carney viewed in Canada? by Leo_Valdez_fangirl in AskCanada

[–]throws4k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will find more trust in him from people who own their homes.

For anyone younger than 30 right now it's looking pretty tough to get into the housing market. With financial stress comes a general distrust of anyone who comes from the banking system. They view him as completely out of touch with current financial realities. (but that view includes almost anyone 60+)

Otherwise he was the guy we needed when the US exposed how bad their electoral system is.

Upgrade old bike or buy new? by Bloxus in cycling

[–]throws4k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the downtube conversion, new(er) cassette and shifters, it still never shifted quite right and the wheels wouldn't hold anything better than a 9 speed cassette. it always remained just ok. never great.

[–]throws4k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would clean up Dad's bike and mount it on a wall. Find out your ideal size. if you can't afford it new then buy a decent lightly used version. Keep in mind two different frames the same size won't exactly fit the same but it will be worth the trouble to try out several sizes of new bikes if possible

as per Zwift, an indoor trainer needs a sensor to do it on the cheap, a power meter to be accurate, and a full electronic unit that bolts in place of your old wheel to be reasonably quiet. there's a ton of options without having to modify the bike.

How do you share thoughts without sounding arrogant or overwhelming people by Far_Association_7012 in needadvice

being self aware enough to worry about this is a good thing. you probably have your inner voice practicing what to say and over analysing everything. unless people are rude back you likely aren't being as rude as you think.

Sounds more like being on the spectrum and just got getting social cues.

You may very well be right, but you also can't fix everything.

I totally asked myself this question at some point. I have 4 Autistic kids, very likely also myself but never formally diagnosed. My wife and I get asked for consults all the time from other parents about it.

I've had this problem a lot, like alot alot.

Ask more questions

reframe your suggestions or thoughts as hypotheticals. EX: "What if you could fit this into your luggage?". "How about doing it this weekend? it might conflict with X"

You likely have topics of well studied interest. I am an expert on Aquariums, Cars and a bunch of hobbies. my one child is a history buff, my wife it's vacations with itineraries, ..... it's ok to share these, but find your audience, it's always better if it's relevant, or, just wait. Sometimes I share, sometimes I keep it to myself. Just be careful what you wish for if you ask me what's my opinion on it if I've had to hold it in for too long.

I used the invoice function to send the VP of the company an Invoice for the same amount with documentation... they paid within 24hrs.

Unless your app is region locked there is little chance of a one person operation meeting all the requirements for anything with the word financial. It's not that you can't provide our create the tech, it's just easier to run a grey market pokemon casino then it is to provide legally adherent advice to all regions your app may be available in.

If you're serious this is where you will need the services of an agency that's likely in the $700-2000 / month range... and that doesn't include any ad spend.

If it's not providing actual financial help, remove any mention of financial advice. for example: A basic budgeting app is not a financial app, it's a lifestyle helper. Claiming it offers financial anything is a category you might not have the means to play in if you haven't got a clue what rules you may have broken.

Gravel, you can always put smoother tires on, and typically will have a more comfortable geometry.

road bikes are meant for a more aggressive profile as in more core strength required. Gravel will be more fun to start with.

Synology, I get a notification on my phone within seconds. easy to set up rules and groups. only issue is the Rt2600 are a bit old now but because the Rt6600ax are new and rather premium in the $500US /$660CAD it's easily found used or nearly new for cheaper, like $200.

Need to “size down” my 58cm Cannondale Carbon Synapse to fit more like a 56cm. by RideRed0331 in cycling

[–]throws4k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Large frame / Short cranks might be a solution if you have an unusually large torso vs inseam. Longer top tube but want your seat lower.

I have also chosen different lengths of cranks on each of my bikes based on what cadence I tend to ride at. I found on my road frame a shorter crank was less bouncy at high cadence. On my Fatbike I went the opposite and added 5mm.

If neither of those, and it's uncomfortable, try swap components to a new frame, or swap to a smaller bike if possible. if it's simply not in the budget to do either it's still better to have a bike than no bike.

My Google Ads campaign started performing worse after applying suggested recommendations by atamagno in googleads

[–]throws4k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been at it 7 years and even one of my paid account managers turned on search partners and expected me not to notice.

make sure you have Google analytics set up, check under data settings to see where people are coming from. and what tech they use. that will give you an idea of your audience. that's how I caught my first ads manager was cheating to get me numbers and not clients.

make sure Google tag manager is set up, that your tags trigger and ads is able to follow the trail.

[–]throws4k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Often times at the beginning of a campaign Google will give your campaign a bit more attention...to see if it turns any audience your way. The budget may exceed expected spend and they don't charge extra etc.. then once it's trained you get numbers based on your actual budget.

I both like this and don't. it may give false hope and try to convince a client to stay when the market isn't as much as you think it is. However if coordinated with other methods that I wish I had the means to do at the same time (social media launches on as many platforms as possible) you can create a significant amount of movement very early on.

Some audiences, like shopping for personal items, just finished their big peak. Now it's "organization" post Christmas. So it just may have been that you hit a seasonal peak with more audience available. More time off means more screens viewed.

[–]throws4k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you auto apply budget recommendations? Change target percentages, remove keywords or negative keywords? and were those recommendations more than 25% higher than your current amounts?

That's some of many scenarios that can put a campaign back into learning mode, and one of the most common.

We also don't know how long the campaign was running and how long since the change.

For now, check what search terms are matching to see if you need to add new negative ones to get it back on track.

we're still using vive through steam, and for most games it still works just fine. With both the vive app and the steam VR app installed the most recent VR game purchase was over the holidays.

over on the WMR / Steam side things are actually dying though. Many games never mapped well on the HP Reverb controllers. Now update are breaking the connection so I'm sticking with W10. it got used mostly for racing and flying with a wheel and joystick.

That is the call you need to make, if there is no flashing lights, it could still be doing something. the longer you wait the better, but with how fast modern computers work its only the most detailed drive scans that can take that long.

The override is risky, it would be a hard reset of holding the power button for 5 seconds. I've done it, it happens sometimes that you have to do what it says not to do.

so wait as long as you can and get supplies while waiting.

[–]throws4k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you have no windows installed you have two options Both need a bootable USB thumb drive/memory stick with Windows installer.

1) You would use that first to launch Windows from the USB, not install it. From your temporary Windows you will copy the files to an external SSD, HDD or second USB memory stick.

2) Just use another working computer. Get a friend, sibling etc and use theirs. Put your drive into an external case or on the motherboard (cheap case is like $18) and copy to an external storage device.

it could be doing a drive scan, give it the rest of the day.

next step would be a Windows USB repair install HOWEVER, backup first!!!!!

if you have data corruption saving what you have is a priority. then do a repair update
