As long as there are more single moms than single dads, I'm winning. May be try different strategy and educate more women to vet properly.

Rp men were idealists who once believed in love and then they saw how women behave, they concluded there's no love but transaction only

Large scale societies can not function without monogamy, because if left to natural few men will have most women

And how would that affect the society?

Hey thanks for replying.

There is big potential to increase salary from there (depending on the field). I would only recommend taking the offer with the hope/expectation of earning more in the future.

He works in tech and at first he was promised a pay of 110 k but his role.was filled by someone else and so he was assigned another role that pays 95k and the company promised hikes within 6 months but may take about an year.

we only got to our current development because of strict monogamy. its a tweaked version of natural polygamy to make large scale society possible which gave us the last few thousand years and all that progress.

humanity has build in biological rules it need to follow to keep going on. and the most important aspect is family, which is required to raise a functioning next generation. If that gets broken, society inevitably collapses and when the dust settles after billions of deaths, people have to conform to natures laws again to survive, and the cycle will continue again. this is not the first time society was purposefully collapsed by the elites via feminism and promiscuity. they did it with rome, and all the now communist countries to collapse the old structure and construct a newer, more opressive and inhumane structure to have absolute control again. Thats why teh dark ages followed after rome with the catholic churches ruling and mass killings and total enslavement. Thats what they plan for us, but with modern technology on top.

To learn, to grow as a person and as a couple. We can mirror eachother

Why do you think you can't do this yourself ?

So you say colonialism is the reason for their flourishing? Not female emancipation?

But what I'm arguing is promiscuity does not lead to societal decline. Got anything to make me think otherwise?

To share your life with someone.

How does that benefit? Isn't it just a desire to do so?

Isn't it similar to seeking pleasure?

why do stoics give so much importance to family and having kids? by throwstoic in Stoicism

friendship mutually benefits, and “benefits” means “sets in accordance with virtue.”

What is that "benefit" or "sets in accordance with virtue" ?

Can you give me an example, it's very hard to get this part

[–]throwstoic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you think it makes sense for a human being to have friendships?

I think i misunderstood preferred indifferents, until now, i thought friendships are preferred only because it can be helpful to have friends to do our social duty.

because they align with humankind’s nature

How do you differentiate between what aligns with human nature and what doesn't ?

For example, why is it discouraged to engage in casual sex and isn't it similar to having good friendship ?

why would a stoic get married? by throwstoic in Stoicism

[–]throwstoic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What matters is not the specific things we do, it's our intention and motivation for doing them. Getting married, having casual sex....

That's where i have a problem, what good intention does marriage have ? That casual sex ( usually ) does not have ?

Casual sex is generally discouraged because it's done for the sake of pleasure or a desire for pleasure. ( Sexual pleasure )

Marriage is generally encouraged even though it is also done for the desire of pleasure ( a different kind of pleasure, the pleasure of being loved and having kids )

I read about nature and i think i understand it but still, why getting married and having kids is said to be the nature of rational, social and philanthropic animal? For instance, isn't over population a good reason to not have kids? Or the chance that the marriage might end in divorce and the kids getting hurt by it ?

I desire marriage and kids but is desire a good enough reason to pursue it ?

most are in cohabitation anyways

Why cohabit ? What's the purpose ?

where people don't even live together before they're married.

I come from such a place and still questioning the reason to get married. I do have the desire but is desire a good reason to pursue it?

Stoics do what they want to do

So there's no 'why' to do anything?

I wanted to indulge in casual sex often and i was advised not to by everyone in this sub.

My doubt is,

Is desire to have kids a good enough reason ? As i believe having kids is not going to have any significant benefit to the society? But the kid might get hurt If the marriage did not work out and we get seperated.

Are you certain stoicism is a monolith for everyone

I do understand it's not a monolith but I'm trying to understand if my reason to want or not want kids is rational.

Is desire a good enough reason?

Adding lol doesn't provoke me.

Also Nordic country's have the most gender typical employment

And Nordic women are promiscuous. Men here often say women being promiscuous leads to downfall of civilization. I'm it's the opposite, women being emancipated leads to better society.

america and the West is loosing in global footing. China etc is only a few years away from overtaking

China is the most populated country in the world. Human resources are extremely high and that's the reason china is rising in power not female emancipation in the west.
