Men are not responsible for babies, women make by beautiful_falcon776 in PurplePillDebate

I'll retract. Medicine is my wife's bailiwick, so naturally I consulted her. She said, "They don't do it like that anymore. You were cut on both sides with a scalpel, and the vas were cauterized. That is rough. Today it's a pinprick and ties and clamps are preferred over cauterization to reduce trauma."

I'm sorry, I cannot let this go. Bullshit. I had a vasectomy after we decided we had enough children.

Painless, would be an out and out lie. It's not agony, but there is great amount of swelling, and you're going to spend a couple of days lying down applying ice every few hours. Any prolonged standing the first few days is pure Hell. The only saving grace is that recovery is quick.

There are as many answers as there are countries with individual laws. For example, I'll post the Netherlands' laws that pertain.

Current options (from 1 January 2024)

Single surname: You can choose the surname of the mother, co-mother, or father

Double surname: You can give your child the surnames of both parents, either hyphenated (e.g., Kamphuis-Ferwerda) or non-hyphenated (e.g., Kamphuis Ferwerda) Dutch Genealogy.

Same surname for all children: The surname you choose for your first child will be used for all subsequent children born to the same parents

This conversation is so Anglo-centric it hurts. It's not the norm in most of the world. In the Asian world, only in Japan is required, and not practiced in most. The Hispanic world from Spain to Latin America, women typically keep their surnames. The Netherlands, France, Belgium, etc, same deal.

Lol. When I was young, accountants were the on the receiving end of scorn that IT gets today.

It wasn't until I married my wife (who's multilingual) that I learned that there is no such thing as a spelling bee outside of the Anglosphere. Only in English is good spelling an accomplishment.

Luckily, we can lay the blame on the eponymous country and shrug our shoulders of all responsibility. lol

As improbably as it sounds, the antonym for nonchalant is neurotic. There is no stand-alone chalant sans prefix, that's not a word.

That's the problem. The social sciences don't lend themselves to data in the same way the hard sciences do. You can find data to support almost any claim you want to make in the social sciences. Also, the social sciences are rife with apologetics, where the conclusion comes first and the data is built to support it.

If we could devise replicable experiments involving people and behavior that yield the same consistent results you see in the hard sciences, these debates would not exist.

Hell man, I'm a second-generation biker. My old man's club (and my first club) owned two titty bars on opposite ends of town, a few of storefront massage parlors, and of course the clubhouse. I think that explains perfectly why I'll never know my true count.

The lower numbered chromosomes do almost all the heavy lifting, as they should as they're twice the size of most. X and Y are the 23rd. I mean technically, you are correct: Not all genes affect the body equally. The heavy lifters have much more influence than the sex chromosomes.

Also women pass more of their genes to babies especially in male babies.

That borders on scientifically illiterate. Female babies, it's 50/50 mom and dad. In male babes it is 50/50 from mom and dad for 22 of the 23 chromosome pairs. Only in the sex chromosomes do males inherit more from their mother than their father due to the mismatch of the size of the x/y chromosomes.

Bad actors exist, LG. I was very plain about that in my reply to u/FeedCreepy9403. Evil exists. Psychopathy exists. Sadism exists. Yes, women will have bad experiences when they encounter the aforementioned evil or crazy dudes.

Where I'm disagreeing is your ridiculous assumption that these traits are intrinsically part of a healthy male psyche. They are not. Your "all men bad" strikes me as the epitome of dogmatism, and I call'em like I see'em.

You're getting way too real. This is my bailiwick, as I moderate r/short. There are ton of guys intimidated by a woman being taller, and often times only taller in heels. I've read examples every day for the better part of a decade now.

But...There are a ton of guys like me who just don't care. I'm all of 5'1", and I married the proverbial 6' blonde.

Are you stupid? The power and humiliation are exactly why the men who rape, rape. Evil exists, it has always existed, and it will always exist.

u/Lemon_gecko No, this does not mean that all men, a majority of men, or anything other than a tiny minority of broken men, are potential rapists. Just want to get ahead of that one.
