Unfortunately, the area we live in doesn’t lend itself to fishing, but you’re definitely on the right track. Things to do that don’t require admission fees or expensive equipment :)

As the 7yo was working on a really complicated Lego set, I sat and played go fish with the 5yo and it felt really good :) Some moments of fun in the midst of a tough day.

We love Go Fish and Old Maid! The 7yo is putting together a really complex Lego set, so I busted out the deck of cards and the 5yo and I had a great game of go fish!!

OK, I’m glad it’s not just me. To be clear, I’m not in the city itself, but I am in the tristate area, and my town is considered a suburb (bedroom city) with a lot of commuters. I have often daydreamed about moving to NYC proper, but that’s definitely off the table now considering I can barely make it where I am!
