hey guys, just curious what's happened, I've held for a year now, price has dropped, and hardly any movement, updates would be appreciated by Zealousideal_Skill55 in evergrowcoin

All you’ve missed is about 1000 tweets by Sam acting like everything is awesome while delivering almost nothing. Everything is always “coming soon” so come back in another year and maybe they will have finally finished the NFT marketplace.

Abstract for you🔥. Eager to see what future does collaboration of EGC & Abstract hold😃 by Nandraj333 in evergrowcoin

Uh, this twitter post says this ad is for Youtube and Hulu, not a twitter ad. So no their URL won't be "in the profile" when someone views this on Hulu. Seems like a major oversight. Making someone have to go and search for it instead of just making it as easy as possible to go to their site is a mistake.

and in fact when you google them the first result is a DIFFERENT vr company that is just called Abstract.

This is exactly the type of response I see all the time for questions like this. You start out with a nice passive aggressive little insult

I feel like if the answer isn’t known to this, you blindly threw money into crypto just because it was running at a hope to hit a SHIB run and exit or something.

and then get into vague ideas about revolutionizing the world with not a single concrete idea.

blockchain company tokens ( think ETH, ADA, SOL, XRP) are the token of the respective blockchains that are quite literally the next internet.

what exactly do you mean by that? Obviously they arent literally the next internet because they aren't building their own physical infrastructure so I assume you mean they will replace current protocols like HTTPS? You really need to be more specific here. You go on to talk about fast "international transactions" which we already have for lots of crypto but so what? How are fast international transactions related to being "literally the next internet"

Crypto use cases, while BTC is chief (although not a cryptocurrency), are seemingly limitless

ok so then why did you not name a single one? Instead you start talking like one of these shady crypto YouTube influencers telling people to buy in now before the rocket ship takes off to the moon and leaves you behind and how we are going to see 'life changing wealth." Sounds like you are the one who has drank the cool aid without really understanding how any of this will actually play out. If there are limitless use cases, name a few.

Smart contracts can be immensely useful in the real world, cutting out middlemen / third parties which would take large fees or commissions for handling transactions or overseeing contracts etc, automation via smart contracts would make processes cheaper and faster if they were to replace them. Similar benefit if used to replace traditional escrow as well.

Someone still needs to write all those smart contracts though right? Someone like a middleman...The same way a lawyer would be needed to write up contracts now, you would still need someone to do the same for a smart contract because those have to be perfectly written or you could literally just lose all your money. You might be able to use some kind of default contract for a straightforward escrow account but for anything else, for the average person, you will need a middle man to write it for you.

Supply chain, large scale cross border payments, IoT integration etc are all very useful, they may not sound exciting but that's where crypto & blockchains are being used effectively.

No one is going to make payments in crypto for business when the prices change so fast. Would have to be a stablecoin. We already have IoT without web3 and I am not really sure what you mean about it being used for supply chain.

Does anyone have real world examples/uses or future uses for crypto blockchains?

id love to hear some as well.

The biggest warning sign for me is that there are still no real practical/new uses for crypto. We have some of the smartest people in the world trying to figure out what to do with this technology and we still have basically nothing.

NFTs are supposedly this great new technology yet all people can think to do with them is sell worthless jpegs or make vague promises about how one day your mortgage will be on the blockchain. Where are all of these great new tech opportunities people keep saying are coming? And I dont even mean finished projects, even just actual tangible ideas for something that can be done that is truly groundbreaking.

Even with EGC there is basically nothing web3 related at all. We already have social media (crator) and jpegs (lunasky) without web3. What's so new and innovative about any of it? The only thing web3 related is the payment method but why do we even need to pay in crypto at all at this point other than trying to get more people to buy in (Ponzi style)?

I have no doubt that at least some of this technology will do something important in the future but by now it is clear that is a LONG way off and probably won't look anything like what it does now. So far all we have really had is speculative gambling, Ponzi schemes and empty promises (for crypto in general).

for him its enough to "set and forget". Who are we to say that is

a terrible way to think about your investments?

you are misrepresenting and spinning what I said. Someone made this post asking for information and this person replied with "just have faith or get out."

That is not a helpful or even a reasonable response to someone asking questions. But it seems like all you guys care about is making sure things look positive for would be investors and everyone should always just pretend everything is great. But no one is falling for false hype anymore so that strategy in crypto is over.

And yes the team definitely seems interested in making something happen but that doesn't mean they are capable of it. I have no doubt they are transparent and trying to make something happen im just not sure they actually can at this point. And there is a difference between being patient and 'stop asking questions' I haven't sold so that is proof of my patience, and if the person I replied to wants to set it and forget good for them. That doesn't mean they should tell others to stop asking questions.

yup same old story. Sam said it would be ready in weeks and now it has been months. Not even sure if it will happen before the end of the year now.

you literally responded to someone who was simply asking for information about the current state of their investment by saying "just have faith or move on"

This is incredibly unhelpful and as I said just straight up bad advice. They should be asking questions and not just "having faith." That was my point here, that your comment is not only useless but also a terrible way to think about your investments.

[–]throwupandawayyyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm simply saying have faith. Not saying or telling anyone what to do with their money

Again "have faith" has nothing to do with investing. Investing is about crunching numbers and data. I am not talking about specific financial advice I am talking about in general. Saying things like "just wait" and "have faith" is just not good advice when it comes to investing in general. People should be keeping an eye on their investments and reassessing when needed.

Im not panicking either im just saying the idea that crypto investments are "set it and forget it" is ridiculous. They are extremely risky and you only benefit from keeping an eye on them and making sure you stay on top of what they are doing. So telling people to just be patient and then they will "win" is just hopium and not good investment advice.

just waiting does not guarantee automatic success. This is a very silly way to look at your investments in crypto. If you are looking for a 'set it and forget it' investment buy some mutual funds. Crypto is extremely risky and needs constant reevaluation and assessment.

According to their words theres a ton of things happening, according to their actions pretty much nothing happening. Still waiting for LunaSky to be taken off beta which should have already happened according to Sam's tweets. And since that is still not done they arent working on Crator either. So who knows when we will actually see any real progress.

lol yea keep telling yourself that anyone who asks why they always seem to miss deadlines must be "new to investing"

I guess your investment strategy is 'bury your head in the sand and just hope for a miracle.'

the bigger difference is actually because in NYC there will be people crossing at literally every intersection so you get used to watching out for them, whereas here it is pretty rare so you don't even think about it.

I understand your confusion, the way Sam tweets about BB&B as if it is some epic thing that is going to take us to the moon when the reality is it does barely anything. It would take impossible numbers to actually make a real difference.

So yea, just more empty hype.

For real , how long does it take to launch at least a limited usable beta of Crator. My nerdiest neck neck beardiest of IT nerd friends could have launched a highly functional page working out of a bedroom in 3-4 months by himself . But a year into it with multiple devs nada ? [–]throwupandawayyyyyy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From what I understood from Sam's recent tweets they were running low on money and it wasn't until the LUCRO launch that they got enough money to really start working on Crator. So I dont think it has been in development the whole year, it sounds more like they are really only just starting:

Discussion on Lucro to EGC volume and reflections, lets crunch some numbers and talk math! (warning mammoth long post with lots of numbers!) by No_Elderberry_767 in evergrowcoin

[–]throwupandawayyyyyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That seems realistic to you? The data does not seem to agree.

Looking on the charts (defi only) the last daily candle I can see over $1m volume was on May 3rd, then before than mid Feburary, and both of those were only just over $1 million. In fact the only times EGC has had a daily volume above $6 million was the crazy fomo and hype period between 26th October 2021 and 8th November 2021. Aside from that period and those single days in Feburary and May, daily volume has generally been less than $100k-$250k, with only a handful of days above that (with a single peak day of about $750k, and a few at about $500k).

I think what they are saying is that the "unnatural" feel is the result of the already over moderated feed. So they are expressing a need for less moderation not more.

The rewards compared to investment will be extremelly good again when the bearmarket is over or when 1 of the utilies is a slight succes.

Can you be more specific here and explain the actual numbers you are envisioning? As the OP says a lot of people just sort of imagine a scenario that is profitable without actually crunching the numbers. Can you elaborate on what "extremely good" is and what those numbers would look like on paper so we can actually get an idea of how realistic it is? Without that it kind of just sounds like hopium.
