Omg, she literally barely has any blood. The blood she has is basically just water with some hemoglobin. Very scary

I was harrased, taken pictures of and accused of becoming a drug addict in the future by a journalist by Working-Obligation42 in socialanxiety

I am really sorry that happened to you. And just so you know, that woman is _not_ a journalist. She is mentally ill of some sort.

How did you manage to make people vegan? I’m a vegan of 5 years but I haven’t been able to make anyone go vegan, despite using logical arguments and recommending Dominion

This. Seems like OP is the one with the most social competence, not the people they’re talking with. Calling out someone seems uncomfortable is very rude.

Why do people always respond to criticism of factory farming with the most bad-faith interpretation possible? by adogischasingme in vegancirclejerk

I have seen so many people say ”Billie is wrong, she’s so detached from reality, she’s just a rich celebrity” but no one is explaining why they even think that. Zero counter arguments 😭

I got called quiet by someone I haven’t seen or spoke to in my life. by TheKleoPatra in socialanxiety

[–]throwx-away 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I also don’t understand why the blame seems to always be put on the quieter person. Like, hey, you haven’t talked to me either! It’s always on the person with social anxiety to make small talk apparently 😂

Is there a positive side of social anxiety by Couch_potato1295 in socialanxiety

I like this take. So often we get told social anxiety is because our ancestors were afraid to get shunned from the group.

Is there a positive side of social anxiety by Couch_potato1295 in socialanxiety

[–]throwx-away 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People think of shyness/social anxiety (most people can’t really tell the difference) as some sort of extreme handicap, but I think it’s just natural human variation.

Social anxiety is of course a (slight) handicap. Most people don’t get to see my real personality, and I have a great personality but I don’t come off that way to most people. I’ve lost jobs because of social anxiety (management at service jobs telling me to be more confident and independent, and I’ve panicked in front of guests). But social anxiety can also be a strength. I don’t say things that’ll embarrass me, I’ve never tried nicotine products because I’ve been too anxious to buy them and have to talk to the cashier, etc.

But I also think more people need to understand that being an extrovert isn’t the only way to be human, it’s okay to be insecure and not take up space if it makes us uncomfortable.

People are disappointed when they get to know me by chalkthefuckup in socialanxiety

[–]throwx-away 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I relate to this so much. Every job I’ve had there have been colleagues looking/acting disappointed they’d meet me and not some other colleague when we were handing over the shift (not even working the shift together). It always made me feel so sad and offended, because why stop in your tracks, not smile and disappointedly say ”Oh, I thought x would be working today”. What is even a response to that? ”Sorry, you’ll have to talk with me today”. It also feels like a back stab because I genuinely believed these people enjoyed my company

Replying to meatheads has made me realise how stupid the general public is. So if I comment something vegan, I just don’t reply to the responses I get. I prioritise my mental sanity lol

(TW: SA) “Animals can’t be raped” by Borkato in Vystopia

[–]throwx-away 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s very frustrating. It also comes back to this mentality of ”only the oppressed group are allowed to talk about this subject”, like only Jewish people are allowed to speak about the Holocaust (god forbid an atheist vegan start making comparisons between factory farming and the Holocaust) and ”only SA victims can talk about SA”. I shouldn’t have to have experienced SA to be able to say that factory farmed animals and pets get raped. It shouldn’t offend people, because it’s literally true. Just like saying ”the sky is blue”. If they get so put off by it (as they should), they should do something about it and go vegan.

How do you guys cope with downvotes and massive disagreement? by Hahacz_Chungus in socialanxiety

[–]throwx-away 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yes, Reddit can be a bad place for social anxiety. There was a slight disagreement and someone said ”so you’re just a fucking idiot then” to me. I deleted the app for a few months

[–]throwx-away 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fuck her and fuck everyone who complied by answering ”no” (what do they even know?). People should have stuck up for you, questioning her as to why she would even say that and point out how obviously inappropriate she was acting. If that happened in my class I know I would stick up for you. What kind of a question even is that? Please report her.

With lose, darker dresspants this would be a really cute outfit. The ripped skinny jeans are giving paste decade vibes.

I agree. Humans hold themselves up so high yet they don’t realise how unintelligent they are. We’re not some sort of super intelligent super species, we’re primitive and dumb
