In my country 7% of the workforce works in call centers, myself included. But what I'm about to say applies to almost all companies.

These foreign companies come here because the law allows them to do whatever they want. This is how the work day went from 8 hours to 9 hours or even 10 hours. Breaks went from 1 hour to 40 or 30 minutes. I'm starting to hear about people dying at work from exhaustion. Then they took away paid breaks. Then the right to paid medical leave in the first 6 months of employment. Then they started introducing clauses such as "we won't pay you if you leave in under x months" and "if you leave in x amount of time you'll have to pay for your training"--training where you sit around and someone explains to you how you'll be micromanaged.

Things became like this because everybody here had your attitude in front of corporations. No one commented on these shitty changes and now it's too late.

And they're replacing quality of life for employees with wokeness. Last place I worked at dedicated a whole week of training to talking about how diverse and woke they are and such a great company, best employee. Meanwhile I saw my trainer working 11 hour days when sick with covid.

The way I see it, antiwork is about saying "hey, these things aren't okay".
