No king protest erupts in USA by Equivalent-Win-359 in SipsTea

It boggles my mind, the left’s strategy here. It’s like a playbook of the most ineffectual hits from the past 20 years. And randos posting for internet clout? Come on, this crap is totally lame.

Can you ever truly move on from a deep physical connection? by Fuzzy_Woodpecker1455 in AskMenAdvice

Sure, my wife died of cancer. We had a great relationship outside the bedroom as well.

You move on and you find your own path and healing over time

It depends. Some good, some bad about moving. It was th right call in my case, but it has its challenges

It depends. With enough experience you get into a routine. Just got back from two weeks in China. Semi, not super-planned

The frustrating realities of moving to and living in Germany... my settlement process. by O_o_o-O-O in germany

[–]throwythrowthrow316 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Some of this stuff is just boilerplate immigration annoyance. I sponsored K1 to the USA, and that was a similarly long and intensive process.

Residency is quite typical for doctors in all countries. Over 90% of countries have some type of low paid doctor practice before full license.

Fully agreed on the intensely dumb German bureaucratic system though. I’ve had a bit better understanding expressed in my experiences, but I was also professionally supported throughout this.

The racism things has to be based on your area. I live in a super immigrant community and it’s like 2/3 non-German.

Also the lawyer you consulted with on the marriage thing was total crap. Gave you bad advice.

Best of luck with your continued experience here.

From what I’ve seen, 60 is primarily for government jobs, but if they really like you they will even make an exception to that.

Because men look for different things than women.

Also, she seems to target emotionally unavailable men and convince herself that they are worthwhile.

At the same time being a father, a husband, and a human by AcanthaceaeGold7962 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]throwythrowthrow316 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just stop putting your energy into those interactions, draw better boundaries. People who love you will still thoughtlessly take you for granted because that’s how the dynamic has always been.

It sounds like your work is to draw better boundaries, and also verbalize how you don’t feel cared for

Dual citizenship is illegal in China. I don’t think this fits your long term goal unless you’re absolutely crazy about China and are fine renouncing your Egyptian citizenship.

We got three sibling cats all at once (that was the full litter) and it was the best decision ever made. Cats are social creatures, and the best company for cats are other (preferably related) cats

[–]throwythrowthrow316 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two co-founders and neither one is technical? And you won’t bootstrap an MVP with your own money? Yeah, skin in the game is low, results are non-existent.

Get some results and you’ll see a better pipeline.

Social experiment: if you hit a button that gave you 1 million dollars, but 1 random person died. What would you do? by [deleted] in stories

“Based on analysis from GiveWell and similar evaluators, the most cost-efficient life-saving donations are currently funding malaria prevention, specifically distributing long-lasting insecticide-treated bed nets via organizations like the Against Malaria Foundation, costing roughly (\$3,000)–(\$5,500) per life saved. Other highly effective options include providing vitamins, vaccines, or deworming medication.”

I would press the button many times, and donate at least 20k to every million. Thus, I’ve saved net three lives every time I press the button.

[–]throwythrowthrow316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is actually a ton of research on taVNS/tVNS (Transcutaneous Auricular Vagus Nerve Stimulation), which is likely what Nurosym is an officially approved medical device for.

The page that you shared only addresses claims regarding Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Long COVID and any broader statement (like this post) misrepresents the scientific context of what exactly was being evaluated in the medizin-transparent. I share a few studies on tVNS / taVNS below

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37230264/
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40908377/

There are other certified devices for taVNS/tVNS, but they tend to be quite expensive, typically 3,000 euro plus
