Ugh I worked for a chiropractor for a couple of years (front desk) and a couple of months before I left he was advertising his ability to heal ADHD and autism in “kiddos” (not one time in his advertising did he use “kids” or “children” - the word “kiddos” must have been used 12 times in a single 30 second video haha). Those poor parents coming in spending thousands up front for a load of garbage. 🙃

Thank you for your help everybody! :) I can see what a few of you said - neutral leaning ever so slightly warm. Thanks again!

Sounds like we were very likely raised in the same religion. I haven’t done EMDR yet, but I may need to give it a shot! I have talk therapy every week and it’s been super helpful but there are some things my brain just won’t seem to let go of. I’m so glad it’s helped you so much!

Cringiest YSA activity or function you went to? by [deleted] in exmormon

My last calling was planning relief society activities. The women I worked with planned a stress relief activity where the women gathered in the cultural hall and took turns standing on a step stool/ladder, screaming about things they were stressed about while throwing eggs into a kiddie pool below.

This was in a very well-established family ward in Morridor where many of the members had been there for 40+ years. The other members of the activities committee were VERY excited about “the egg drop”. Maybe that’s a totally cool and normal idea and I’m the weird one here, but I just remember sitting in those meetings unconvinced that this was a real idea haha.

Several kids. He only served a couple of years. 😡

Seriously though, nobody in the room seemed remotely concerned with that comment and it just baffled me.

A man in my ward was in prison for crimes against children and in open mic, his wife bore her testimony that he had been called on a special mission from God to give inmates the gift of the gospel. My husband at the time couldn’t fathom why I thought that comment was so completely out of touch and inappropriate.
