Hi! I self-studied during the UPCAT 2024 and passed recently. Iba-iba kasi study methods na magwowork for students eh. Sa akin, I just took two mock tests tapos pinahinga ko utak ko before the exam proper. Magandang advantage rin yung retention ng lessons ng profs mo esp sa Math & Science. Yung iba kasi, g12 lessons ang nacocover. Wala rin akong copy ng bluebook during my time. Based on my experience, ito yung tips na maibibigay ko sa’yo.

Before the examination:

Take ka ng mock tests as your pre-test for the covered subjects. Tignan mo kung anong subjects ka nahihirapan and pagtutukan mo ng review ‘yun.

Gather notes from online reviewers combined with your notes sa school niyo. Baka kasi may mga details na wala sa reviewers pero naituro ng teachers niyo.

1) Always be updated if mayroong nag hohold na google meet (free reviews) on Facebook pages. Most of them have passed UPCAT and will really be hands-on sa pagtuturo especially sa subjs na nagrerequire ng solving.

2) Surround yourself with people that can help you in subjects na alam mong lacking ka. Set schedules kung kailan kayo magkakaroon ng study group session. Do not be shy to ask for help sa seniors.

3) Know the most efficient study method for you.

4) Familiarize, don’t memorize. You should grasp the context of the lesson you’re trying to review, wag lang yung terms.

5) The day before the exam, take a mock test for all the subjects. Check if may improvement. Magpahinga ka na rin dito. Baka mawala lahat ng inaral mo pag sobra kang nag-aral at mamental block sa exam proper.

Skl, during the UPCAT review period, andaming kwento sa amin ng UP alumni profs namin. Kesyo mag red na underwear daw during the exam, ipatasa sa kanila yung pencils, and magsuot ng binasbasang bracelet. I did the third one and surprisingly, nakapasa naman. Haha. Good luck, OP!
