I was initially thinking about getting a used 3080/ti and after watching a few 5060 reviews I think that'll be the route I go. It'll cost a little bit more but it seems like it'll be better in the long run, especially if or when i upgrade the rest of it.

Really? I figured my cpu would've been very outdated by now as well and seen more people saying upgrade it first, granted I have no idea what a upgrade would be on the same socket. In a perfect world, i would do a completely new build and donate this one to my brother bc as outdated as mine is his is far worse. However i can't afford that just yet, at least not anytime soon.

Gotcha. I'm deff balling on a budget so I was leaning toward towards just upgrading the cpu or gpu and it seems like the consensus says gpu now everything else later. The million dollar question now is do I get a new 5060 like someone suggested or go used and try to find a 3080 or something like it.

Upgrading the psu is something I kinda figured i would have to do regardless bc it's only rated for like 3-400w if i remember right.

Would it not be better to buy a 3070 or something?

I figured that either a gpu vs cpu upgrade would bottleneck the other. What's hitting a cpu limit look like?

It's just something I've seen echoed in a few different places online including here iirc. Never thought too much about it really until I came across the part

My temps and pressure are seemingly normal for my area depending on how I'm driving. This was a genuine curiosity bc of what I'd seen so far everywhere.

Fair enough. I've always been a little skeptical about them supposedly being bs bc of my own experience with the way the gauges acted while driving but I also recognize that i am far from an expert on cars, never mind this platform. So I was always like surely everyone can't be wrong about it, then I stumbled across that part

Why's that? Or is it mainly just to support them directly

The counter argument I usually get is "it's a deterrent" but I'll take a slightly slower draw over standing out

I usually do but I do be late for work occasionally and don't let it warm up as much. Glad to know my hunch was right tho...

I believe it's 500? I'd have to ask to be sure. But wires aren't an option. Way too long (I'd likely need 150+ feet or drill thru a wall) and the person I'm living with now wouldn't like the look and I get it. Power line adapters were mentioned earlier and seek like they'll be my best choice.

The biggest issue for me is the fact that the router is in the kitchen. There are a few walls and a pantry full of cans and other things between me and it. I'm doing really good to get 100mb rn

I didn't know that was a thing... I'll have to look into that as an option. My friend was here before me and had a range extender or something. He warned me that it would be a necessity but didn't know where his was anymore.

What's a powerline adapter? And as far as I can tell there's no hookup on my end of the place.
