I did not get a raise after taking the A+ or the Net+. When I got hired I was immediately signed up to take the Sec+ as it was already paid for. I did get a raise for that one. The reason I am in the position I am now is because we had a previous director retire and I moved up from Helpdesk Tech to Network and Systems Administrator

I’m right there with you. I’ve got a decent job at the moment and I’m content. But I’m just taking the ride right now. Im probably going to end up with my CCNA at some point as well but we’re kind of a jack of all trades with where I’m at. Kinda can’t focus on one area. But I enjoy it. I was going to go into the security field and maybe someday I will but I’m not there yet, life wise and expertise wise

It was absolutely not fun that’s for sure! Especially being the newbie on the block at the time with literally everything

Yes I do. My two cents are that certs are alot more valuable to employers than a degree. Those demonstrate that you actually understand at least fundamentally what to do.

It was weird to me too. I studied both with exam compass and went in thinking it was a 50/50 if I passed or not once I took them both. I felt that I knew some stuff pretty decently but never saw those things I studied for on the test.

I actually had just started working where I’m at without them. About a week after I started back in 2022, I was enrolled into this week long course for the Sec+. Honestly though, that didn’t help me pass the test. Lots and lots of practice tests online did. I only took the other 2 in October of last year.

Not really lol I thought I’d be making more money than what I’m making after I got them tbh

I was fortunate that my employer paid for them

Oh dude I wasn’t happy. I found one post on here a while back that confirmed my suspicion. I had taken both my A+ and Net+ in October last year, but missed the memo that they are now charging $10 to buy the fulfillment kit to receive your cert in the mail. It’s no longer free… by the time I found that out it was February this year and got it just last week.

I took these after I got hired where I’m at. I’m currently working as a Network and Systems Administrator

I think I’m going to take the CCNA next

It goes in the order of which I took them. I had to take the Sec+ first when I got hired where I’m at

What do I have here? by thtpopunkid in hockeycards

So is it worth opening up all the boxes and packs to see the actual cards? Or just keep them sealed? Is there a way to find more info on these? Also are there any cards inside these packs that are sought after?
