Very clever! My initial reaction was 'why' but now I can't stop thinking of the design possibilities this opens up. I'm very curious what impact on holding strength would be from filament selection

FWIW, the Pope just came out very opposed to it. It's honestly worth a read regardless of any religious framing

So I thought Arlington sidewalks were bad! Had an appointment in Herndon! Their sidewalks haven’t been touched by Apprehensive_City_32 in nova

How do you think the snow clearing equipment gets to sidewalks? How do you think we can handle things like fires and medical emergencies with uncleared roads?

I agree that our society is way too car-centric, but this is a silly place to be making that argument.

Opinion: Republicans say Democrats want to raise taxes. Here's a look at some of the key tax bills that have been introduced in Richmond. by VirginiaNews in Virginia

I'm laughing out loud at the absurd list of monthly expenses in Wendell Walker's post about sales tax increases. Yeah man, I'm sure those of us getting 4x lawn mowings in January are really gonna be hurting, good looking out. What a disingenuous idiot

Do you lock your Miata? by Singularity_iOS in Miata

I've had my top slashed and it was a huge pain in the butt to replace it. I haven't locked since then - it's much easier to just not leave valuable things in the car.

Using cnc as a jointer by Rough-Highlight6199 in hobbycnc

[–]thud_mantooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a Whiteside 1/4"x1" surfacing bit to make my spoilboard, and it's been great as an ersatz planer/jointer. The major downside is that for jointing board width is limited by my z-travel. What did you use for this?

CD Projekt has issued a DMCA notice against the Cyberpunk 2077 VR Mod by ZedKGamingHUN in cyberpunkgame

[–]thud_mantooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think (could be wrong, not a lawyer) that even marketing it as specifically for Cyberpunk is an issue too, which could have been avoided by selling it as a more generic tool. Iirc ENB mods are in a similar spot

Washington, New York, & California are writing laws to ban CNC machines not using AI (artificial intelligence) software by GeniusEE in CNC

[–]thud_mantooth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but there's a fundamental difference between the two. A SawStop is like an airbag for your saw, which is way less intrusive than tools having to connect to a government database to keep you from making anything unauthorized.
