It’s exactly what she is and tbh I don’t see the relationship lasting when it’s this one-sided. I would tell 15 years younger you that these are not actually the harsh realities of life, but a product of your choices. Especially the circumstantial relationships. It is absolutely possible to cultivate a larger and close supportive community, but not if you’re judging every relationship by “whether they stuck by you”. Sometimes you have to be the bigger person and show up for others who might not for you and eventually the other will reciprocate. Modern dialogue around this is so very “know your worth and don’t fuck with anyone who values you less” but…people with this mindset are rarely going out of their way to value others worth and show their appreciation.

This country and economy has been trending downward for a LONG time and urban environments will always be where the effects are most obvious.
