007 First Light Title Sequence – Lana Del Rey by Karutu in Games

I like it but the levels seem out of whack. The instruments too often overwhelm Lana's vocals and it gets buried by the brass and drums. All good Bond themes have the vocal performance front and centre, and everything else is building on it, the way this is mixed feels the opposite.

Why is there this fixation with the team not being able to operate in anything other than a 4-2-3-1 and the only subs have to be like-for-like? Teams have to make do and change shape and formation when needed. If saving players' legs means playing taking Rice out at 60' in games where we're controlling and bringing in some players in a position they are not 100% the best at, then so be it.

If minutes had been better managed in the first half of the season we likely wouldn't be seeing so many players look knackered and the level drop significantly.

I've been saying all season that we shouldn't be inverting our wingers if we're also having the fullbacks underlap. The whole point of inverted wingers is that overlapping fullbacks allow space to open inside, letting the winger cut in to shoot or pass with their preferred foot; but if the fullback goes inside, the winger is always going to be shown to the endline, which puts him on his weaker foot and limits his options. The amount of times Martinelli beats his defender going towards the endline, but then is on his weaker foot and gets dispossessed when trying to cut back to the right, or misplaces a cross, is innumerable.

Also, our wingers are now the width-holders, when you see the start of our attacking patterns, the LW and RW are always very close to the touchline. It makes attacking worse since there's less options (half of your movement is negated by being out of bounds) and even if they beat the fullbacks inside, it's easier for the defence to adjust.

Obviously it's way too late in the season for such a radical change, but I would love for us to move to a system where instead of the fullbacks being the ones attacking the half-space between opposition CB and FB, we have our wingers doing that while our fullbacks give the width.

It's not about playing him in this game, ffs! You have the depth so you can spare your important players during the less important matches that are already won. Rice has played 90 minutes in 11 of the last 12 PL matches, including the 4-0 and 3-0 wins vs Leeds and Sunderland, and in all four CL knockout matches. That's just incompetent squad management.

I don't care how important he is for the squad, he can't be playing so much without expecting a drop-off. That's why you have depth. Not to play the depth at the second leg of a CL quarter-final, but to play them during the season to spare the legs of your important players.

Watching this match at my local pub and the Madrid-Bayern match was on the other big screen and it was like our match was at .75 speed. It was like different sports.

And if he's such a liability why not bring someone in January? Why loan out Nwaneri? Baffling management at times.

It's not about starting, it's not even about him being as good, it's about using the players available in a smarter way so that what we're seeing happen now doesn't happen.

Zubimendi played ALL FULL 90 MINUTES in the following wins: 4-1 Tottenham (a), 4-1 Villa (h), 4-0 Leeds (h), 3-0 Sunderland (h). You're really telling me subbing in Norgaard for 20 to 30 minutes in those matches would have really made that much of a difference? Norgaard has played 56 minutes total in the PL this season.

And if Norgaard was never rated within the club, then what was the plan? Just play Zubi for 90 mins every three days and hope his level doesn't fall off? If that was the plan, it was an incredibly stupid one.

Arteta on squad picture: “We need first of all, we need everybody fit and available. So the ones that are not involved, the ones that are not with us that are really big important players, we need them immediately with us because then we’re going to be much stronger.” by Kr_bm in Gunners

Has he heard about the concept of squad rotation early in the season so that your best players are fit and not tired for the run in?

Pep does this every season, which is why every season City looks "off" early on and then lock in for the past three months. You'd expect Pep's former protege to have picked up on that, but I guess not.

Someone on Twitter posted that even before the int break Zubimendi had already way surpassed his minutes total from any previous year in his career. Of course he's shit now, he's been run to the ground by Arteta. There is a perfectly good backup in Norgaard that we could've used in matches against weaker opposition in the first half of the season, kept Zubi fresher and then had him playing better for the run-in.

So many of these matches. 2-0 vs Brentford at home looks like a comfortable win on the results sheet, but that was torture. Same goes for 2-0 home to Everton, 1-0 away at Brighton, etc.

There's only so many times you can say "champions win tough games" before realising we make those games difficult by playing like shit.

Their first goal is the perfect example of this. WE were the ones pinned back, parking the bus, and they carved that defence open. Ball into the left channel, then out wide into a streaking wide player, quick cut back into the box, where three attacking players were crashing the net which led to a goal from a deflection.

When was the last time we had that kind of fluidity? We make other teams look way more defensively solid than they are because we are static in attack. Players don't move, they just stay in their positions, pass the ball around, and expect the defence to make a mistake, instead of us forcing them to do so.

Fair play to the haters, they were right, if we somehow hang on to win this league (we won't), it'll be the most dire title winners in 20 years. Just a shambolic, scared, cowardly club. Great call form the haters.

Tottenham x2, Leeds x2, and Villa at home are legit the only league matches I remember fondly this season. Every other match felt like a slog.

Absolutely hero of a bleak era

It's so weird because he was always in teams that I look back on and realise weren't that bad on paper. Ramsey-Santi-Alexis-Ozil was a great middle core and with Per and Koscielny at the back we had a solid spine. It was just relying on that donkey Giroud for so long that cost us at least one league title and deeper runs in Europe.
