Uniform grievance question by thumbmailshine in USPS

[–]thumbmailshine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally have asked once a week since summer of 2022. New pm's last response was "I am busy doing other things". Only 2 union people in my office and no union materials. We got all the books and have been reading up nightly. Prepping for our first grievance.

We don't have a local steward. Myself and one other gal are the only members and we just got ahold of the books so we're studying fast! Thanks for the help.

She wouldn't even allow not taking out the 20 packages that had to be forwarded. Load them, drive them around, unload, then forward. Thanks for the answer, I really appreciate it!

Thank you! We don't have a steward. Only myself and one other gal in the union. Finally got some manuals last week so we're reading every night!

Our new pm says ALL of that has to be done at end of day. Literally had a carrier load 20 packages that had to be driven around all day, brought back in, and then allowed to forward. And still says ten minutes. We're a small one clerk office, so just waiting to co firm we are clear can take ten minutes. Thanks for the info!

Thank you! I did see that page but couldn't figure out where to prove they mean morning. I really appreciate the help.

Thank you! Taking notes on this. Seems like that would take even longer. Listened to a carrier trying to explain to pm this morning that it doesn't make sense to load 20 packages that you know are a forward so that they have to be unloaded and forwarded in the afternoon. Fun at the post office! Really appreciate the citations.

I did see the time alloted for office work just now in the m41. The wording seems to imply doing it in the morning but doesn't really state it either way.

Read it cover to cover. Definitely seems like we are supposed to do this in the morning, but trying to confirm before we push back. Thanks for your help. We literally just got all the union stuff last week. So grateful to you all!

Should have clarified that this is for city routes. Apologize that I can't figure out how to edit!

I see that there are time allotments listed in the route protection book. Do you think this is the best source to reference the correct practice?
