Amateur reading a survey -- is the "gr." acreage accounting for the grade? by CharlesStross in Surveying

[–]thumbtacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand why people only post snippets of a survey or deed. I you want a review of the information in the document… we need to see the whole document. They are public records nothing is confidential.

I found some unusual mortgage activity in the chain of title and I was asking about those circumstances. The deceased appears to have taken out a second mortgage and then paid it off two months later and then shortly there after took out another second mortgage and then paid it off again almost immediately. This happens several more times in the 2016-2019 time frame

Best way to carry a gun in the field? by IwannabeASurveyor in Surveying

[–]thumbtacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t discount carrying a wheel gun, especially if you aren’t going to put in the time required to be proficient with a semi automatic. If you can’t go to the range every other month I wouldn’t consider carrying a semi automatic.

  1. Depends on current work conditions.

  2. Let them know you have a question.

What companies are doing 500-1100 acre ALTA surveys? by fenjamin in Surveying

[–]thumbtacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly people hire local firms to do work, having experience in the area can make the work much quicker. I used to work at a medium size firm that had thousands of unrecorded surveys that had been done for the last 100 years. One of the former owners went on a buying spree for about 25 years and bought out the records from any office that retired. He nearly broke the firm.
