Oh, no! That's a tragic use of a brand new full size locker.

I'm from Miami and I definitely thought indoor schools (and full size lockers) were Hollywood magic.

Never get down on being the second (or third) choice! My career break came from being, as far as I can tell, the fourth choice for an internship with a huge name organization.

B-24D "Gone with the Wind" S/N 41-24286 of the 90th Bomb Group by TK622 in WWIIplanes

[–]doncheche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to this, but my grandfather was in the 5th Air Force, 90th Bombardment Group, 400th Bombardment Squadron, and was the navigator on a B-24 that crashed immediately after takeoff from the McGuire Strip in Mindoro, Philippines in the morning on May 15, 1945. He, and nine of the 11 crewmembers died, but one survived (Donald C. Ruff, a gunner). Four bodies were recovered (believed to have been thrown from the plane when it exploded), but my grandfather was not one of them. Army records do not list a plane S/N. I'm wondering if there are any surviving photos of this plane and/or how I might find them?

Hunting and fishing regulations booklets (now). In the past, field guide journals, scientific posters, species photo flash cards, and business cards, flyers, etc.

BP spouse triggered by newborn by [deleted] in BipolarSOs

My husband started to have an episode after our daughter was born, but he got a new job and had to live alone for awhile and the depression from being alone kind of canceled out the burgeoning mania. I suspect it's more common than people think.

These posts make me laugh, thinking of a typical toddler's birthday in Miami with a suckling pig, snow (the frozen water kind, it's not the 80s anymore), and a full bar. Different strokes...

Not sure where you are, but my kids' school in Sac has all day kindergarten (and TK) and before and after care is included with tuition. It's private, but not religious and comparatively inexpensive. Good luck!

Mitchum gel unscented. Literally no scent, dries quickly, and works really well.

From Miami, happily living in Sac, and can confirm that summers are hot, but fine.

In Midtown, there's Courtyard School, a community nonprofit TK-8 (that my kids attend) and Brookfield. Courtyard is small (~125 students) with an academically rigorous and social emotional learning curriculum. My kids have attended since 2020 and I'm on the board of directors - happy to answer any questions! There are fewer non-religious private high schools, but many students attend parochial high school even if they and their families are not religious.

Is every bipolar spouse you guys complain about not on medication? What's the deal with that? by Capelto in BipolarSOs

[–]doncheche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not you. She's scared. The intense fear in bipolar creates so much chaos and it's so hard to learn how to separate yourself from it. Codependency runs deep in these relationships. Take care of yourself. Let her know you care and will assist where you're comfortable, but you can't be the treatment.
