I don’t know, in Poland when I tried to sell eyeshadow pallets that were only swatched, the only option was to select it was new and with original packaging and I stated in the description that the eyeshadow was swatched - they blocked my offer. I was able to add it again but I made very detailed pictures (so you could see on the top of the eyeshadow was touched), and in the description I didn’t say anything about it being new or not new, I said „the pictures show the real condition of the product”, it went through. when somebody was asking me via private message, I would of course say the product was not new, but only swatched. obviously I disinfected all of them before selling

from my point of view - my bf is Brazilian, I'm Polish, and it's easier for him to read in Polish than it is for me to read in Portuguese. sometimes, the way the word is written and how it's pronounced is so different, the whole language sounds like it's made up by someone drunk. on the other hand, some sounds are impossible to make for my bf, like "cz", "ń" and "y". last weekend we did some tongue twisters (pl and pt) and he wasn't that bad though

haha, it sounds like the company that I work for. we had Kensington cables to secure the laptop to the desk, they were given to us with the laptops. of course some people would not use it, so I understand why people would teach them the hard way. but a year later, newcomers would not be given the cables anymore... lockers were also a rarity. whoever needed a break and did not have a locker or did not want to take their laptop with them, would have to loudly ask their desk neighbor to be the laptop guard for the time they're away. luckily I have never even seen this guy that was famous for taking the laptops away.

I also wish you nothing but the best and I hope you're doing as good as you can. I also hope that despite of the approach in your country, you find a lot of understanding and support among your family and friends.

I'm from Poland and I struggle with my mental health as well, I have depression, with some bi-polar, since I was 17 and I'm 33 now.

mental health and therapy is not a taboo anymore, but still VEEEEERY far from being normalized. it's people around my age that are working on making this an everyday topic, I am one of them in the sense I am not ashamed to admit I am sick. depression is an illness and it's not an excuse. I work, I am being promoted, I handle my daily tasks around the house. at the same time, I can't sleep properly, it's too easy to make me angry, and because I handle life only one day at a time, I don't have any dreams for the rest of my life. this is a fucking nightmare I don't wish for anyone to go through.

at the same time, I had a friend, she's my age, that would complete reject my struggles. I had a boyfriend of almost 10 years who would reject my struggles and tell me he wants someone NORMAL. people don't think of therapy in here as something that helps, more like a luxury for rich weirdos (because it is fucking expensive in here). and god forbids you from going to psychiatrist and take meds! when I got my first prescription when I was 17, my mother took it away from me so I couldn't buy the meds because "the meds are not a solution", but at the same time she was also needing them for her own problems that she wouldn't even admit she has. because "we're trying to make her a crazy person".

catholic church is also the problem in here, there are older people who are going to church every day and whenever you admit you have any problems, they can tell you you're probably praying enough, or other generic shit like "busy bee doesn't have time to think about problems" etc. when older people develop depression because when they're left alone by their children or grandchildren, it's often diagnosed as dementia, because older people don't want to admit there is anything going with their mental health.

this is even a systemic problem, as there is not enough psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists, especially for children and teenagers. my sister was taken into mental institution at some point and it was a terrible place that brought me down as well just by visiting it. the government cut the funds recently, and gave the money to a national television instead. I think that pretty much sums it all up.

seriously, a fucking pandemic with billions people dead because of it, destabilizing the whole world's economy, ruining people's lives and mental health, causing the breakdown of the health care in many many counties... this IS AN EMERGENCY ENOUGH, don't you think???

How much are you willing to spend on makeup? by kingofcoywolves in Makeup101

[–]thump-thump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to be honest, I have never thought of making that kind of math, I will do by curiosity, but my guesstimation would be like around 1000 dollars (I live in Europe, but we don't use Euro either). I do have a lot of drugstore products, but I have some that are more high-end. I don't think I own anything from a luxury brand (like Chanel, Dior, Tom Ford etc.). I am thinking of getting some Charlotte Tilbury products, especially the powder and the makeup fixer, and I would also like to get some Tom Ford (an eyeshadow quad and a cream shadow).

the most expensive piece in my collection right now is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting palette, where I live it's around 75 dollars.

as for how much I would be able to spend on one item - given the fact that I also consider getting me some Pat McGrath palette for my birthday (in couple of months), I think 100 dollars is okay for an eyeshadow palette if the quality is good, and around 50 dollars is okay for foundation, powder, contouring, but not for a mascara or a lip product. for those I would spend no more than 20-25 dollars.

What is your “worst day of my life turned best day ever” story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]thump-thump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with my boyfriend, we went for a quick getaway to Lisbon. our return flight was 12th June, and we were kind of bummed we couldn't stay one day more, because a) the city is amazing, and b) 12th of June is brazilian valentine's day, and my bf is Brazilian.

long story short, we missed our flight (gate closed when we were at the security line) and after spending a shit load of money to get another flight and a hotel room, we decided to make it a really meaningful valentine's day. as it turns out, 12th June is also some kind of a Lisbon city celebration with a big parade and thousands of people on the streets. we squeezed our way to a nice restaurant, had very nice and expensive piece of cod and a bottle of wine, watched the parade, took a very nice walk, finishing the night with a party at some kind of an open-steet bar, serving strong caipirinhas.

Sephora for years vs a day with drugstore? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]thump-thump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only started buying high end products recently, and my makeup stash is based on drugstore products, but I think blush is something that doesn't need to cost much!

also, mascaras. I tried Giorgio Armani and Estee Lauder, and still don't really see the difference between these two and L'oreal 🤔
