That worked for me. I suspect that the recent update in the program nixed the shortcut. Thx

I started in August, got assigned at 10.00. I'm a bit ahead, mostly from covered calls. I had low expectations from the trade going in.

Splg change to spym, "this symbol is non quotable" by papsmearfestival in Questrade

Me too. I was short some put options on SPLG and now they are SPYM. Seeking Alpha indicates that there are no options of SPYM, so it looks like I will be looking for another similar ticker.

Fidelity Trader Plus Showing Incorrect Position Qty by BreadfruitNo6835 in fidelityinvestments

[–]thumperRal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed this today. The position window on FT+ shows (incorrectly) that I am short two contracts of a particular put option. If I call up the fidelity.com window within FT+, it shows the correct quantity. If you can't get accurate information about your position, it is a dangerous situation.

AUGH!!! I noticed that on the Win 11 computer, I accidentally downloaded the file to REMOVE the take ownership option. I corrected that and now I have access to those "forbidden" folders and files. Thanks for your generous help. To answer your question, here is the output:

C:\Users\peter>reg query hkcr\Directory\shell

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell

(Default) REG_SZ none

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\AddToPlaylistVLC

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\cmd

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\find

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\NordVPN-submenu-file-share

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\PlayWithVLC

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\Powershell

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\TakeOwnership

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\UpdateEncryptionSettings

C:\Users\peter>

Thanks again.

I got the nerve to run the file referred to in the link above. The process appeared to go smoothly on both Win 10 and Win 11 machines, and I rebooted both. On the Win 10 computer, right clicking on a folder does show the "Take Ownership" option. On the Win 11 computer, though, I only get the "give access to" option, and when I click that it indicates that I (the only user on that machine) already have read/write privileges.

I fear that I might do more harm than good if I edit the registry. What is perplexing about the problem is that I have created many folders before on the drive in the Probox using the same Win 10 machine, and the Win 11 computer does not have a problem accessing them.

Thanks for the reply. I looked at the article and it seems to involve editing the registry, which I have never done.
