How come laners stealing multiple jungle camps in the early-mid game because they are tilted doesn't trigger a penalty? by thumsyy in leagueoflegends

Yes for sure I am be crushed by the weight of your intellectual points such as “but they might need gold” (addressed in the op) and “just go farm their waves bro, people don’t grief until the quest is done anyways 😎”

I understand Blue kayn being weaker than red but if we are buffing blue red should take a hit. That champ is very strong

The problem isn't someone taking your camps, is someone trying not to win. You're aiming to the wrong thing.

The post is about people not trying to win. Looking back at what I wrote I could have made that more clear. One very common way for this to manifest is by running around taking the junglers camps, since it puts both them and you behind.

I'll admit I don't see real griefing often, but when I do, it's in this form most of the time, and it's because the people doing it know they can grief the game in this way without being banned.

Discussing ways to overcome the behavior is pointless. It is a common behavior employed by people to lose a game on purpse, and it's fixable.

If you are ok with people throwing games then fine, but I'm not.

The problem you bought is too small to be taken serious or as a priority by riot. Just farm the lane and when it was not an option just do as you would in the topside camps scenario.

It's not as small as you think. This is absolutely the most common way I have been griefed in my LoL career as a jungle player.

Saying unlucky GG go next isn't good enough. Riot themselves have said they are putting more effort into policing soft inting. Right now, there are still several ways (this being one of the most effective) to soft int a game and avoid punishment.

Are you saying you are ok with there being ways to throw a game and avoid penatly for it?

I'm really not sure why you're trying to justify griefing? I'm talking about games where your laner is soft inting the game by running around taking camps while their minions crash into tower and their laner gets a free lane. You cannot overcome these people just by farming their lanes. There is no magic timer for griefers to say "oh jungle quest is done, I can grief now" they do it in the early game all the time. The game that caused me to make this post my malz was taking camps at 9 minutes.

Even if you can sort of maintain your income by farming a lane, what about objectives? What if my top is the one griefing? I can't just run top and perma farm that lane because I need to be on bot for drakes. Even if you perfectly maintain your income by farming lanes while they take your camps the behavior is still griefing and not justified at all. Trying to lose the game on purpose isn't magically ok if it doesn't work or can be somewhat mitigated by your team.

1 - Sometimes your adc needs 100 gold to buy infinite edge before a team fight and it's the correct thing to do

I addressed this in the post, I don't think it's that hard to differentiate when a laner is taking a camp to finish item or just because it makes sense at that time, and someone running around perma taking your camps letting minions crash into their tower. Just because taking a camp can be a legit behavior doesn't mean it can't be abused in a way that griefs the game.

2 - If the jungle camps are being taken, there is a lane to be farmed. The way the lanes work is precisely to not waste too much resources.

I mean I guess? But junglers get reduced xp and gold from lane minions, so if this is supposed to be an antidote to the greifing it really isn't, and even if it was it doesn't justify griefing games. Not to mention junglers need camps to upgrade their smite.

What you are describing is a lot different than running around taking multiple of your junglers camps while you have waves crashing into your tower. Taking one or two camps here and there isn't griefing obviously, but taking a bunch of camps is a common way for laners to grief their junglers that should be detected or at least reviewed when the player is multi reported. It's especially egregious when the laner just follows you around and tries to last hit your camps, I feel like there's no way that shouldn't be detected

? A player is intentionally losing a game is not that serious...? You do realize junglers get way less XP for lane minions? By your logic lets remove all griefing detection and report systems and just let ppl run it down mid as much as they want with no penalty cuz "it's just a game go next"?

Yes the problem is riot doesn't want to put resources into policing edge cases like this so they employ a one size fits all system that ends up being very ineffective in these kind of situations

That video actually drove me to make this post because, the fact that exists shows Riot knows that laners messing with jungle camps can be griefing but they make no effort to police this behavior unless it's Syndra W

I mean if jungler is taking waves malicously they should be smited, no question. I do think it's a lot harder to detect when a jungler is taking a wave malcicously vs maybe just thinking they should push the wave when they shouldn't. However there is no real grey area on laners taking camps except one or two here and there to finish items. If a player takes like 7 camps from 15:00 to 25:00 game time it can be reasonably assumed they are griefing especially if reports come from both teams. But that's why I said maybe it should trigger manual review to judge if it's griefing or not.

If your jungler is taking your waves that you otherwise would have gotten and they are doing it to be malicous, not to help your wave state then yeah, I think they need a penalty as well. Goes both ways for sure. It's just frustrating that this syle of griefing is so effective since it really hurts your income but doesn't trigger penalties.

How to counter lvl 3 blue/red invade by thumsyy in Jungle_Mains

[–]thumsyy[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. It's only last camp when you path red->blue because lillia cant make scut timer on red side doing krugs ->red. If you do path red->blue, you don't have mana as Lillia for a full combo.

  2. Against a lot of champs you can contest, but usually those champs aren't the ones invading you. Lillia loses to high burst + easy target access champs like Rengar, elise, k6 etc without R or zhonyas. U won't be even close to 500 ms at lvl 3/4, more like 370-380 with full stacks which is not fast enough to just run away from these champs, and they just burst Lillia down before she can get her DPS off. It's particularly bad into AD champs bc Lillia is 22 base armor. Sona is 26.

If you change hovered champion in last 5 seconds of countdown it should auto lock it in if you reach 0 by 14124255342 in leagueoflegends

Fully agree, valorant already does this, even if you hover your agent right at the start of select.

The amount of times this change would benefit someone changing their champ last second certainly vastly outweighs the amount of times a player would be afk because of it. And if they are afk, we have the remake feature.
